Can I start by saying, this is probably the worst place we have stayed. We looked it up and after seeing the pictures, thought, wow, looks great, but the pictures online, are a total misrepresentation of what we found. The room was dirty and tired, full of flies and smelled old and musty. It was 38° so had to have open window as no air-conditioning. We had booked for 2 nights but the following morning, decided we had to leave. As is the owners right, he still charged us for the second night, but did not bother to ask why the early checkout. We felt he would know, but not like the reason we would have given. Our advice to him, is to sell up and go as there is obviously no love left for what could and should be a beautiful hotel. We cannot recommend a stay here as it is. Gary & Hele Gibraltar

A great find in a wonderful location. While the hotel is a 2 star, accommodation is fine. Very clean rooms and shower worked perfectly. No air-con, but a large fan provided and as near the mountains the temperature dips in the early hours, so windows ajar! The restaurant is what sets this hotel apart. Both alfresco or inside dinning off a varied menu offering a selection of starters , mains and puddings along with a great choice of wines! Service was excellent and along with a fantastic jazz band (Friday night) to accompany dinner ,a super place to stay. Did not have opportunity for breakfast as we had to leave early to head to St.Malo. Car parking is safe and secure with hotel dedicated parking both at the front & across the road in private area. While we had limited time, the area is ideal for keen walkers / trekkers as lots of options to discover the wonderful scenery. Overall great value and would recommend a stay, especially Friday/Weekend.

We have been to this hotel many times, and its location and general facilities are very good. We understand it has changed hands, and we were a bit concerned in case quality had fallen. Overall, we would say not. The meals we had (2 dinners) were very good - rather more limited choice than previous, but excellent quality. The accommodation is as before - good quality, not luxurious but perfectly adequate.

Séjour du 12/06 au 15/06. Très beau cadre et très bon accueil de la part des propriétaires et de l’équipe. Chambre accueillante avec vue sur la montagne. Au top ! Petits déjeuners et repas avec des produits locaux succulents et bonne humeur au rendez-vous. Jamais deux sans trois, nous y retournerons et recommandons fortement. Myriam & Nicolas COUDEVILLAIN

Ces quelques jours à l’hôtel du Chêne nous laisseront un excellent souvenir . Un accueil simple et convivial dans un cadre où la nature à toute sa place. Des repas et petits déjeuners faits maison avec des produits locaux et de qualité sont à déguster sans retenu. Tout ceci accompagné d’une équipe à votre écoute pour rendre votre visite dès plus agréable. Toute notre petite famille a beaucoup apprécié ce séjour à Itxassou.

Tres bel hotel situe au calme dans Itxassou au pied de l’église. Parling privatif gratuit. Accueil chaleureux, de belle et grande chambre fonctionnelle. On vous recommande le restaurant de l’hotel pour un diner, tres bon, un peu onéreux. Petit déjeuner correct. On vous le recommande pour faire une halte bien mérité !

Simple , prix corrects, plutôt propre mais plein de mouches dans la chambre…. Et 1er étage bruyant, le parquet grince et pas mal de nuisances sonores Sinon environnement et vue agréables

Séjour du 21 au 23 février 2024 a l’hôtel du chêne!!Petit déj et dîner succulents (c'est le mot) avec des produits locaux, literie et draps très confortables!Super pour les randos au pied de l’hôtel. Endroit très calme, accueil sympathique et sans fioritures!!La formule Demie pension" est très intéressante a notre avis. Merci pour ce court mais sympa séjour§ Dominique et bernadette AGEN
