Hacienda Sacnicte

This was my second stay at Hacienda Sacnicte; my first was two years ago. It is a gorgeous, peaceful, charming place. It literally brings tranquility to your soul. Wonderful and friendly service, fabulous food for dinner beautifully presented, amazing included breakfast. My only problem was, this trip, we had practically zero water pressure and no hot water in the shower. That was unfortunate. But I very much recommend an escape to this magical place.

Hacienda Sacnicte is a very pleasant and quiet place just outside Izamal. We were greeted very kindly, the rooms were very clean and the staff was very attentive. From Hacienda Sacnicte it is easy to drive to Izamal so the combination of such a beautiful accommodation as Hacienda Sacnicte and the proximity to Izamal is great. The pool offered the opportunity for the children to cool off and the surroundings of the hacienda invite the little ones to explore and have fun.

What a beautiful hotel! Restored from a centuries old hacienda, it’s both authentic and charming. Our room was beautiful - see video posted. After eating an amazing dinner in town at Ristorante Kinish, we’re sitting on the huge stone veranda, sipping tequila and watching a lightning and thunder storm. Perfecto!

What a great experience! This small hacienda (10 rooms) is located outside charming Izamal in a rural setting. Rooms are large and stylish; ours had 2 double beds, a walk-in closet and a large shower room. There is a good sized pool surrounded by tropical vegetation and a covered terrace where meals are served. Inside seating areas are very stylish. Both breakfast and dinner were good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It would be advantageous to have a car when staying here; we didn’t, so were dependent on taxis to get into Izamal. Very sorry to have to leave!

Despite having only one night to stay, the staff and the property was able to impress this woman who carries 20 years in the hospitality and is very very picky. I am no one important but I know people who have hospitality in there heart when I see it. We checked in after dark,( I suggest arriving before sundown so that you can see the sunset, and the driveway is difficult to see in the dark as it is about 50 m after what the GPS tells you). Check-in was very very easy, and even though we were a little bit late they happily welcomed us into the restaurant. My friend whom I was traveling with enjoyed her spaghetti Bolognese and I very much enjoyed a glass of wine from Mexico, and cheesecake. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not vegetarian friendly. But the cheesecake was very very good. Fernando was our server, and he made sure to take care of our dog as well as us as so we were family. We plans to leave very early the next morning to go to the archaeological site, and he made sure that the restaurant would be open half an hour early for us so we could enjoy the included breakfast. To really enjoy the charm of the property, I highly suggest waking up at sunrise to hear the ranch around you waking up. I don’t want to ruin the charm by telling you about all of the enchanting sounds and sides, but the Crips the morning air, in addition to this visual beauty truly allowed me to decompress. My friend slept in and missed it but she enjoyed a very hot shower while I had my contenintal breakfast and unlimited coffee refills. 10/10 highly recommended and will definitely be returning, maybe even with some groups for a yoga retreat

Wonderful stay! The pictures on HT don’t do justice. The rooms are simple, yet beautiful and romantic. The commons areas are airy and well maintained and the decorations are so tasteful you feel like you’re living in a fairytale. The staff was lovely. Jose, our bartender/waiter, was particularly accommodating and polite. He truly understands hospitality and made us feel really welcomed. I have a small service dog, but the fact that this place is pet-friendly in general is a huge plus for us (in our experience, pet-friendly hotels tend to be better than others). The breakfast is solid, and the views simply amazing! Overall, a very authentic hacienda experience and very beautiful quarters. Unfortunately, we only stayed for 1 night. We can’t wait to go back and book a longer stay.

Hacienda Sacnicte is definitely up there as one of the oddest places I have ever stayed. It really does give the vibe of having had a lot of money and TLC thrown at it maybe 10 to 15 years ago and then left to slowly decline. Service was pretty much invisible (during the time we spent there, the poor receptionist appeared to be fulfilling pretty much every role). The rooms, like most of the fabric of the place, were a bit tired, but very large and, whilst missing extras like a hairdryer or tv, were one of the place's more positive features. The water in the pool looked cloudy and dirty. The loungers and parasols old and tattered. The drinks menu stained and outdated. The guests were equally odd, wandering around silently, oblivious to existence of any other guests. Since the hacienda is a fair drive out of Izamal (which itself is pretty sleepy after the daytrippers leave), you would expect it to offer services to keep guests entertained. We ended up leaving without even having breakfast, since, in spite of there being a number of guests and staff just hanging around silently in the breakfast area, no-one seemed to mention anything about breakfast at all. All in all a peculiar place, and not one I'd be in a hurry to revisit.

This Hotel is difficult to review. It is absolutely beautiful - perhaps one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in, and the rooms are amazing and unique. It is close (10 mins drive) to Izamal which is a small but very pretty town with a handful of lovely restaurants. However, the running of this hotel is absolutely awful. Communication before we arrived was extremely difficult - it took several emails and Instagram messages to get a reply. The worst bit is the restaurant. Whether it is open on any given day is a complete lottery which isn't communicated to guests until they ask or sit down to eat. It doesn't serve lunch at all and the 'included' breakfast is a small bowl of fruit and some stale bread - any larger breakfast is charged for. We stayed for 6 nights and the restaurant wasn't open on several of them. The nights it was open, the majority of the menu was unavailable. We tried to eat there one night and they only had fish dishes available (I can't eat fish). We ended up just having guacamole and a small salad both of which were very average. Every other night we drove to Izamal for dinner and had amazing dinners but it was very disappointing as we had deliberately booked somewhere where we thought we could stay in and eat every night. Service from staff was really mixed and often it was difficult to find anyone to help us. A real shame as this hotel could be amazing if it was properly run.

Beautiful rooms, friendly, accommodating staff. Staying at a hacienda while in the Yucatán is a must! And this one fits the bill :) Great food in the restaurant at night and for the breakfast. I messed up my reservation and they were so gracious about the mix up . So, so quiet at night. Lounging by the pool was so refreshing after sightseeing. Loved my children, too :)
