The Sparkling Turtle Backpackers Hostel

It's a real hidden gem ! I usually don't write reviews on this site but I created my account to tell about my amazing experience in the Sparkling Turtle ▫️ highly professional and welcoming team who make you feel home Mr Ajeet, the hostel owner, is one of the warmest and deepest people I have ever met. He's so caring, he even picked me up from the bus stand at night, and he's very attentive and wise ▫️Everything is made with love in this brand new building Every detail in the hostel has been carefully taken into consideration to create the perfect atmosphere for guests,  from the stylish design and decorations with a deep meaning to the super comfortable beds, mats and slippers ▫️ Location and breathtaking views It's located  in walking distance to the main road, Swayambhu bus stand, shops and restaurants, famous attractions like the Buddha park, Swayambhu and Monkey temple, The Single Tree, Tergar monastery etc, and at the same time it's a quiet place, on a hillside, so you can enjoy the stunning city views and good sleep ▫️ delicious and beautiful food Every meal and even just a cup of tea or coffee is made and served with love and a bright smile by Sandesh, the owner's cheerful assistant, who's always in the hostel and who can quickly solve any problem ▫️ Safety for female solo travellers I was feeling very safe and relaxed there. Didn't even want to leave the place Thank you guys so much I'll definitely stay in the Sparkling Turtle again and will recommend it to other travellers!

An excellent stay with excellent service! A grande property with opulent views of the city from the terrace! A world class kitchen that serves delicious meals & rooms with soft, comfortable beds. There are musical instruments to play & several common areas & balconies around the property to relax & take read a good book. The beauty of this place with the beauty of the city below makes it a prime destination for your next trip to Kathmandu!

Ajeet is an amazing host. Sandesh is a great cook. I felt happy, calm, secure throughout my stay. I highly recommend this hostel for an affordable, serene and happy stay. Breakfast was amazing and Ajeet was super helpful in exploring rest of Nepal.

I planned to spend the night here after arriving in Kathmandu, and the next day find something closer to the center… But as you understand, I stayed here until the end of my stay in Kathmandu There were several reasons for this First, the view The view is a separate conversation, you need to see it live in order to feel the flavor, but I promise few people will be left indifferent Secondly, comfort The rooms are clean, cozy, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming Thirdly, excellent prices I can't help but mention that the price per day cost me 1050 rupees, including breakfast, without breakfast - 800 rupees, but believe me - these breakfasts are worth it! And of course the final and most important reason why I stayed is how the owner Adit and his assistant Sandish treat this place and how they treat their guests.. I had a feeling that I had come to stay with my distant Nepalese relatives During my stay at the hostel, I became very ill and spent the whole day lying in the room and practically could not get up (anyone traveling alone should understand what it means to get sick in a foreign country is not the most pleasant situation) So Adit and Sandesh did everything to make me feel at home, including going to get me medicines, fruits, taking things to the laundress, etc. I put a solid five, one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in P.s. Oh, these breakfasts from Sandesh… Try them out for sure

Absolutely recommended! I will 100% come back! I was so comfortable what I extended my stay and visa for +50 days. Adith, the owner and his family, and Sandesh from the staff, accommodated all very honestly, 1010. Views are unbeatable. Wow!

When we arrived at the airport we were welcomed with open arms by our host and taken to the hostel. The hostel is located in a beautiful location just next to the monkey temple with a breathtaking view. The people there are so kind and wil do anything to provide you the best vacation in a lifetime. I highly recommended it for anyone who wants to go to Nepal. Thank you again for the warm welcome and everything you've done for us!!!

Realy nice place to stay. Everything is new and clean. Beds are good. Owner and familie are lovely. Close to the Monkey tempel, 30-40 min walk from Thamel, but a nice walk true KTM. And if you have your own vehicle like us, you have a save parking.

Good accommodation and nice hospitality. Ajeet has been very helpful throughout our stay. Dorms are maintained well. Food options are less and can be improved. Good to have some coffee in the morning. Pls include geyser with existing solar Thanks and we will visit again

Perfect place, wonderful host, the rooms are very nice and tidy, everything is clean and the breakfast is very good ! Ajeet was extremely helpful for all information on the treks around Nepal and kept in touch during all my stay here, strongly strongly recommend !
