Decent property. 20 minute walk, couple minutes drive from the city center. Very friendly and helpful staff. Probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on! Has what you need, but in need of modernization. Lacks enough electric outlets, charging ports, etc. Good breakfast available in the morning for €12. Cafe open during the day, pub open at night. Clean, but a little dated.

Giving this property 3/5. We arrived late at night to check in after 9pm but there was no one there to check us in. The bar man appeared approx 10 mins later and gave us our key. We were in room 31 on the second floor, no lift. Room was spacious and clean. No bottled water supplied in the room which would have been welcomed and the TV was extremely bad signal to watch the Olympics..netflix available which was good. Nice shower facilities but soap dispenser choice was questionable. Well decorated dining room for breakfast. Small selection available but enough in the cold selection. Wouldn't recommend the hot food as it had been lying there since cooking early morning. We had breakfast before 8am, it started at 7.30am and the hot food wasn't hot. It is just cooked and lying there for the length of time of breakfast. Had originally booked this hotel for 4 weeks prior at a price of 150 but it had to be changed due to a change in the work date and was charged 180 with no negotiation of the original 150. Would not stay longer than one night, handy location for a work stay. Definitely not cheap though.

We had room 1 on the ground floor, near the reception area. The first night the music from the reception area/bar was quite loud. Upon speaking to the staff on duty (apologetic) the volume was turned down a bit. I closed the open (!) fire doors and that took care of the rest. Our stay was otherwise comfortable. The KK2 bus stops nearby or you can walk into town.

Perfect location and rooms were lovely. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the beds were very comfortable. There are definitely some things that could be better. Would let guest know its over bath shower in advance of stay, people have mobility issues and with modern bathrooms assume these things might be accessible but climbing into bath for a shower was not ideal. After a long day driving and touring would be nice to have tv reception in room, it was really bad reception and very few channels to browse. Breakfast ‘hot’ foot was not hot and got even colder with only having cold plates to put the food on to. Toasters are so slow, need to put toast on 10 minutes before rest of food. Iron and table in room would be good. These things wouldn’t put us off staying but they are all things that take away the shine of a nice place.

We had food in the bar , which was not very nice. Breakfast is buffet. But both mornings Breakfast was lukewarm and we had to ask to heat up the Breakfast in the microwave. We reckoned the buffet machines were switched off too early. It was disappointing.

It's a very quiet hotel. bar didn't open till 4 and food was vert poor! I got turkey and ham it was fatty gammon and pre sliced packet of turkey also frozen veg but Stuffing was nice. Definitely wouldn't go again and wouldn't recommend. Also it's a Saturday night no music or any type of entertainment and breakfast wasn't included in the price!

It was a work get together I loved Kilkenny but I wouldn’t call the hotel boutique it’s a warm Welcome but a little tired looking in our room the furniture didn’t match and breakfast isn’t included in the price which is a bit high considering your not in the centre.

Loved the quaint decor in both the bedroom and dining area.The hotel was bright airy and spacious ,the shower was very pleasant and the room was clean and comfortable.The staff were very amenable and attentive.Very nice experience overall.
