Westwood Inn & Suites - Kimball

I would not ever stay in this place again! There was a funky smell in the room,it’s very run down there were small whiskers on the sink and top of the toilet tank from someone shaving, gross! The shower curtain rod was broken so the shower curtain slipped in the middle and water was all over the floor all someone had to do was put a screw in the shower rod. Go down the road another 30 minutes or so and pay a little more it would be worth it! Don’t stay in this filthy smelly place.

I got stuck with bad thunderstorms on the freeway. So I stopped at this exit for the night. I am torn on how to write this review. For a little hotel in the middle of nowhere, this is not a bad choice! And for the price it got me through the night. For the most part, the hotel was clean, but lacking attention to detail. The rooms were clean and the sheets were clean. The beds were made. I make my bed better in the morning than that! My biggest concern was they have pillow shams for pillowcases. Are they getting washed? Each bed only had two pillows, which were the ones with pillow shams on them. I would feel much more comfortable if they were white pillowcases. The towels were folded sloppily and mismatched, but all white. Check-in was easy and friendly enough. I had to go get the Wi-Fi password. The keys to the room were in a little key envelope that must have been five years old. I’m sure they do not get a ton of business since they are just west of Mitchell but so many of these details don’t cost anything! The parking lot is in rough shape, but the town itself is a little farm town, so that didn’t bother me too much. It’s the garbage and cigarette butts right outside the main entrance of the hotel on the ground that bothered me. Again attention to the detail is lacking. I even remade one of the beds to give them an idea of how they could look so much more updated and more appealing without spending any money. For their value price, they are so close to getting an even better rating than on here!

If I could give it a zero instead of a 1 I would. Room was not cleaned. Trash on the floor. Pulled back the covers and there was a dirty crumpled up kleenex. Managers solution was to begrudgingly give me "clean" sheets so I could change the bedding myself.

My wife and I stayed there last night. The owner and family talked and made noise outside our room until 11:00. I finally had enough when they drank enough whiskey to get into an argument. Worst experience ever!! I paid for a room and the OWNER was loud and obnoxious! I opened my door and gave a look. They finally broke up the party. Never ever will I stay here again!! I’ll sleep on the sidewalk before I stay here!! Drive on and stay clear!!!!

This is hands down the very best place I've stayed at in every respect the last 10 days on the road driving cross-country and I kind of wish we would have stayed here the whole time. Best of all it's dog-friendly only charging $10 extra. I was planning staying an extra few days but someone complained about my dog barking a little bit at another dog as they passed each other going out for a walk and the manager told me I couldn't stay. I understand he doesn't want the negative review that will inevitably get posted online but it's unfortunate that people are so sensitive and quick to complain about an advertised pet-friendly motel where they actually heard a dog bark a little. Not incessantly but a hello bark with a wagging tail. On the plus side, I have to say the beds are so comfortable and luxurious and my wife wants to get the same comforter for my bed at home.
