Northern Lights Village Levi

The place is 15min from Levi Center, and the hotel booked a van to take us there when we arrived at Levi bus station. It is a nice and quite place with well equipped igloos. The dinner and breakfast were both good. We also booked the Husky safari from the hotel and it was a very enjoyable experience. The service people in the village were always responsive and helpful. Overall it's a very memorable stay in the village.

來芬蘭怎能不住一次玻璃屋呢，我們很幸運凌晨一點看到了極光以及玻璃屋頂滿天的星星。酒店邊上就有狗拉雪橇，自駕10公里很爽。

Positives: - excellent cabin - great location and settings Negatives - average to below average service. Some examples: 1) we had to pay 5eur to have the luggage transported to the cabin (500m along the snow) or otherwise would need to transport ourselves . I don’t this unacceptable at this price point. 2) when we asked for the luggage to be picked up at checkout out (1h15 before we left the room), we were told that we should have asked earlier.. 3) lack of care about the overall individual service. - overall feeling of being in a big group hotel, catering to excursions and large groups. - the last point is of course debatable, but we cancelled the husky farm as we didn’t like the fact that the animals live in cages. This is of course up for debate. Many will say the huskies are happy when they’re pulling the transport (but most of the dogs were not huskies, and pulling the transport was only a small part of their day). I am not saying the dogs are poorly treated, just that we didn’t feel comfortable with what we saw. Overall this is a hotel which would have the potential to be a top hotel if they invested more in service

I will try to keep this short as there is a lot to say: We stayed over NYE 2023. 1. If you are a family the Aurora Suite is well worth the extra expense (the cabins are 50% smaller vs the Suite) 2. You should choose the packages (either the 5-day or 6-day) because they include transfers (these are very expensive in Lapland) 3. The "Spa Day" is not really worth it as its basically just paid entry into a water park in Levi (we found it really weird as we were expecting a high end Spa) 4. Food was excellent (we went full board) but you really need to eat breakfast because their best options are mostly available then (amazing fruit selection). My suggestion to NLV would be not to nickle and dime people about having juices outside breakfast and dinner (they charge you extra if you want some at dinner) 5. Aurora Hunting in heated sleigh was a poor experience because they had clearly over-booked it with external guests (there are only so many seats and guides available for all the people) 6. Husky and Reindeer experiences are well worth the money. We had an amazing time as a family. 7. Santa Experience was the best I have ever seen anywhere. Absolutely worth the price and time (and we also went to Elves Village and Rovaniemi so can compare) 7. Be careful about the cost of transfers (airport to NLV etc). They basically multiply the price x 2 whenever you order a taxi transfer and this is a bit annoying, so keep this in mind (this is why its worth buying their packages. Transfers are included) We enjoyed out trip (family with a 4 year old) and we also got to experience the NL inside our glass Aurora Suite which made the 5-day package very much worthwhile.
