Tigaki Beach Hotel

The strangest thing, it was an all inclusive, however you could only have a beer during the day and from 6 until 11 order spirits, the bar staff were few and rude. Never known it in Greek islands before. Food was mundane messy and the same everyday. It was more like a 1940’s camp than a modern 4star. More like an average 3. Wouldn’t risk it again.

We stayed in the main building. The bedroom was large with plenty of storage/hanging space. Everything in the room and throughout the building seemed to be recently refurbished and well maintained. There were plenty of power sockets, the air con worked well. There was no tea/coffee making facility. The only English language TV channels were France 24, DW etc news in English. The charge for the safe was 3 Euros a night. The sea view was very good. The receptionist gave us a second door card when we asked on check in. The gardens and pools were very attractive. It was great not to have loud music and noisy games by the pool. The food was good for a four star beach hotel with plenty of room in the restaurant and few queues. Food was constantly being replenished. Greek night was on Sunday and there was live music on Wednesday. At the end of the hotel drive is a bus stop. 2.30 Euros and half an hour to Kos town. The beach has several rows of trees on a great expanse of white sand. The hotel's beach furniture was very shabby, 10 Euros a day for two beds and a shade, but there is plenty of room to move around as the shade moves. There were only two rows of sun beds. We went every day and always found a spot in the front row only a couple of metres from the shallow sea. There were no facilities. Many other sections of the beach had much better beds but none had as much space as this hotel. Grand Gelato offered drinks etc and use of facilities on their section. We ate out several times during our two weeks stay. There are several restaurants to the right on leaving the hotel, more to the left and many more in the main road. Prices were very reasonable.

Really nice hotel in a great location . Very clean and efficient. The food & drinks are excellent with the all inclusive package . The rooms & balconies are excellent with Aircon . My only criticism would be that the hotel is overrun with rude Germans , and literally everyone of them smokes ! The area around the bar in the evenings absolutely stinks of smoke . That area is partly enclosed which makes it 10 times worse . The Germans don't seem to care about considerate smoking . Groups of them will sit right next to you and all light up at once ! They can clearly see that you don't like the smoke but obviously don't care . Would I go again ? Unfortunately not .
