Wanda Vista Kunming

I think we have to keep in consideration that this is probably one of the more luxurious hotels in the city, also you get the prestige of staying within the skyscraper compound, the only skyscraper compound in the city. The hotel is literally next to a food street with LOCAL pricing and a large shopping mall with electrical appliances, a supermarket and lots of other local shoe and clothing brands within it. Not to mention there is an IMAX cinema! The room is large and the bed is super big (larger than king). The entire room is decorated with marble slabs, MBS level materials. Highly recommend you book the breakfast if you do not like or aren't that good with Chinese Breakie. The breakfast spread is pretty good, international and Chinese selection, canned drinks, bottled water. Try the yogurt machine's yogurt, pretty good. Special thanks to Receptionist Anna Ke for the special care during our stay and ultra special thanks to Lester for making the effort to help me receive my Taobao Shipments as I did not have a Chinese Number to facilitate the transaction process. Lester really went out of his way to help us out. Protip: If you are visiting and are looking for cheap souvenirs, tea, clothes, luggages and other essentials, I recommend you Visit Shuang Long Shopping center 双龙商城 (closes at 5pm) The souvenir prices at the old street are pretty much extortion levels after you visit Shuang Long.

The location is close to the train station but not so good for other parts of Kunming. We enjoyed our stay nonetheless.

The hotel is a standard 5 star hotel. Decoration looks grand and the room is spacious. Staff was friendly and service was good. The only drawback is the TV in the room is old model andf not HD. The image was very blur.

Overall, our stay at Wanda Vista pleasing and comfortable. The service I received from Annie Xiong at the reception was extremely thoughtful. We came off a long flight and everyone was attentive to our needs. Location of the hotel is good, convenient to places you would probably visit. Amenities were also top quality. We would definitely (and we are) head back again during our next visit. I recommend foreign friends to consider this hotel when you visit Kunming!

Great location near train station and big mall beside it (wanda). Easy to hail taxi or get Web app ride hailing cab. Breakfast buffet was worth it.

Nice location with good facilities ! Unfortunately the club level is close and they still accept the booking with ! After arriving hotel they tell you that no more facilities available due to remodeling !
