The front screen door to our motel apartment was broken. This was not an issue the first night. But on the second night it was, when the wind picked up and it started to rain. The door's banging woke us up and try as we could, we couldn't secure the broken door's bracket to the broken door's hinge, against the wall. I rang the information number listed in the motel's confirmation email and was given a choice of options and a number to call. But we were desperate to stop the loud banging - both against our front door, and then as it swung back and hit the connecting wall to the next unit. We finally jammed a tea towel against the door and pulled the broken screen door bracket against it to secure it. The carpets were truly disgusting with many stains. We ended up wearing our shoes inside because the carpet was so bad it made the bottom of our feet dirty. Management made much of the requirement against the cooking or consuming of seafood in the apartment, which we respected. But this contract goes two ways. We did not get a good contract in return, from our perspective. For $200 a night we also expected a truthful representation of the apartment. Our back door faced a wall and the front door, the car park. Nor did we have any vista of the river, as shown on the website. We have waited a week for management to respond to our complaints. We have heard nothing. All we wanted was an apology.
