The room itself was tidy. It did smell strongly of surface spray/fly spray upon arrival that took ages to dissipate with the use of the ceiling fan and an open window. When we used the shower and the hot water hit the drain, holy hell did it reek. A smell of sewage made the shower unusable for our stay. That being said, the food at the bistro at the motel was delicious with generous to large servings. The people in the town were pretty chilled out and we felt safe and welcomed. Just wish the room matched the rest of our experience in Lightning Ridge. It really was a let down, especially considering the price
