I chose this hotel for it's appeal with location, and access to the spa facilities. Whilst the price of £190 for a double B&B rate was steep, I was hoping it would leave us feeling rejuvenated. We are a family of 4 with 2 children, therefore 2 rooms at that price each. Some simple tweaks would improve the experience. For example, the warm welcome was tarnished when the receptionist declared the total amount to pay so my family heard. This would be best left discrete for a host of reasons. The rooms were spacious, but dated - there's no plugs next to the beds, and the ones in the room are not USB, so you need your charger plug (as well as cable). Breakfast was ok - cooked buffet, fruit salad, toast, mini pastries (that looked dry), and cereals. They only had soup bowls or plates, no fruit/cereal bowls. The spa facilities were clean, and functional. I noticed others were given a jug of water and disposable cups, though we were not. There was no water fountain to either top up own bottles or the jugs - this would be a simple and effective solution. Very limited relaxing chairs by the pool - I noted 2 that had foot rest, and 6 standard wicker chairs only. There were no stools to perch on whilst drying your hair and it had no ventilation rendering the mirrors too steamed up to see. I was quite shocked a 4**** hotel and spa used a green wheelie bin for clients to put their used towels in. It just didn't exude spa class with that finish. Sadly, it wasn't worth the price for us.
