A friend and I were in town for an event and stayed one night at this hotel, which she selected. We checked in early evening and got to our room right away - they had accommodated her request to be at the end of a hallway and we were on the second floor. We walked in and dropped our stuff, then I kicked my shoes off to use the restroom. One step into the bathroom and I almost fell - it took me a second to realize that the bathroom floor wasn't wet, but the carpet in the room was! The ENTIRE floor was wet and we were worried the air conditioning was leaking, but then we noticed the soapy smell. We assume that the carpet had just been cleaned that day. That is GREAT to know that they do that, but yikes - make sure it's dry first! We turned up the fan on the a/c, changed and went out to dinner with others in town for the same event and by the time we got back, it was mostly dry. The hotel was extremely busy with what we found was a huge baseball/softball tournament. The entire pool area was inundated with screaming kids, so we did not end up using it as planned. There were plenty of running packs of kids in the halls until around 11pm, but luckily, the a/c unit was just noisy enough to cover most of the sound without being overly noisy itself. Breakfast was average for this type of hotel - make-your-own waffles, English muffins with fried eggs, cereals, lots of toppings for oatmeal, whole fruit, diced fruit (melon was soft though), a couple of juices and coffee. Taking the stairs that morning, we noticed the security door at the end of the first floor had a sign to not use it - because the outside pane of glass was completely smashed. Finally, the one thing we found most odd... There are still signs on the door that say masks are required in all common areas due to COVID-19. We weren't prepared for that and didn't have masks but neither did any of the other guests. In fact, only one employee had one. May as well take the signs down! Overall, this was an acceptable quick stay for us. I would use the hotel again if in the area.
