Safestay Madrid Central

Ive stayed in this place a few times, normally a wonderful place, and shamefully haven't given it a review, so I have given it a five. Ive checked in tonight, settled down etc. and gone down to the common area. I asked the kitchen staff for a glass/cup (baso/copa) for use for a bottle of water, which was visible and obvious. This was refused for a reason they could not give, apart from they didnt have any. Plently of glasses were in view I asked at reception, who went to see the kitchen staff regarding the request, he returned, saying I could borrow one for ten minutes. I asked why the time limit was ten minutes. No answer could be given I asked the staff in 'the restaurant/roof area', on the top floor if they could supply me with one, but with a negative result A bizarre experience. Richard Moran 23 08 24

A friend and I stayed here for 4 nights in a 10 person mixed dorm room. The room was nice and we enjoyed the option to just choose your own bed when you entered the room as this way we were able to share a bunk. The staff were also great, having a 24/7 reception service available and each being genuinely helpful. Each bed had a locker, plug socket, reading lamp and storage shelf which was amazing compared to some other hostels which don’t have such private features that are just for your bed. The people in the room were very mixed, there was one woman who repeatedly broke the no smoking rule and smoked cigarettes in the room even following us asking her not to and reporting her to staff. There was also a very loud snorer but what can ya do about that haha. Other than that the guests were fine. The location is absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend the Irish bar which is a 2 minute walk down the road, it was great for watching the football and meeting others. One thing that we disliked was the private parties being held in the rooftop terrace which made this area inaccessible to us even when we paid for it, this happened 2 nights. Furthermore, the keycards stopped working half way but that was fixed very quickly by staff so I can’t complain about that. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would definitely be back in Madrid sometime soon and will revisit this hostel.

Just wow Liked · Everything is either recently renovated or very well maintained. Under 15 euros you can have sleep in the center of madrid. The materacces are very comfortable. Everything is clean and tidy. Very nice rooftop with amazing view. A lot of open common space can be used even after checking our or before checking in - space for remote work. Super nice night shift guy. Some of the beds are not bunk so you can have indivitual bed for yourself also - all of the have plug ins, night lamp and small shlef. The value for the price is just wow! Disliked · 1. because it is so cheap you can have all kid of guests staying with you in the room - not very clean or smelling nice, snoring etc. 2. the thing that bothered me a bit was actual showers - the shower is small and it goes our directly to the corridor, so you cant really go our with the towel and brush your teeth for instance as anyone who will go to the room will see you.
