We spent three nights here in a Superior Room, I believe it was Architecture. The room was directly off the reception area, but it was quiet. We never heard any activity in the evening or early mornings. The beautifully decorated room was open, bright, and airy. The bed was comfortable, with high quality linens. The bath was also spacious with large, fluffy towels and a large shower with lots of hot water. A small issue was lighting over the mirror and sink which could have been a bit better. The property is small, at just five rooms. It occupies most of one floor in a late 19th Century Palazzo. The rooms were meticulously restored retaining the original inlaid floors, many of the doors, the painted ceilings; and most impressive, the beautifully hand painted walls. Entry is through a courtyard, and there is an elevator. The location is ideal. It is easy to get to and from the property by car. Parking is on the street but there were always spaces available. We had a pass to display on our dash, so we did not have feed the parking meter. Walking from the hotel to the center of Modena took only a few minutes. We really appreciated the common area and the amenities it provided. In the morning it served as the breakfast room. The rest of the day it served as a lounge offering snacks and beverages. In the evening, we stopped for a small glass of liquor before going to bed. Benedetta, the owner, was a pleasure to meet. She offered suggestions, arranged a balsamic vinegar tour for us at the last minute, and in general, made us feel like guests in her home.
