Candlewood Suites Monahans

I stayed in a room with one queen bed for a long weekend at this property and liked the full size refrigerator w/freezer, stovetop, and microwave as well as the relative spaciousness of the room, comfortable bed, and mostly clean presentation (except for some of the dishes stored in the dishwasher). I was surprised that very few towels were placed in the room (maybe they've had problems w/theft??)but exchanges were possible at the Front Desk. The young adult female Front Desk staff person I encountered the most was almost entirely dour, short in her replies that bordered on rude, and not at all hospitable to me. A young man was a bit better yet not particularly friendly either. (Two other female Front Desk staff were friendlier and more hospitable in singular brief encounters). At the time of my visit, apparently no housekeepers were scheduled to work Saturdays or Sundays and therefore garbage in the Laundry Room and receptacles at the end of hallways was overflowing and unsightly. The outside of the property needed some attention due to cig. butts, various trash around the building and in the parking lot. On further visits to this town, I chose not to stay at this property as there are better and kinder options around.
