The MC Hotel, Autograph Collection

This may be one of the worst hotels we have stayed at and apparently, the company knows that. Things did not seem right on arrival even though our room was an upgrade. We had to drive around the block twice before it became evident that the entrance was an apparent dead end on the side of the hotel. Once in and in the room, the space between the desk and bed was so limited that one of us cut our hand bumping into it. Dinner at the restaurant at the top was great! But then during the night the refrigerator kept going off and on and waking us. In the morning we could not shower because water was leaking from the fixture above the shower. We skipped and went for breakfast - poor service, dry tasteless breakfast and bad coffee. We told the front desk and on our return to the hotel mid-afternoon, were given another room but should have inspected it. We rested and got ready for an evening affair and even showered. On returning at night, we found multiple problems in that room: wallpaper coming off the wall, crackers behind the night table, crumpled paper beside the couch and wall, charging outlets and night table lamps that were inoperative, a safe cover that would not stay up and crushed our hand, but there was room between the desk and bed, and the refrigerator was quiet. We were given one night's expenses back

I stayed at this hotel for work and it was very comfortable and accommodating. I had dinner and breakfast there. At night it was very quiet and easy to get a good night sleep and in the morning I walked around and noticed some nearby workout places and coffee shops.

My experience at this hotel was excellent. I am a native of Montclair so I remember when this hotel was built. I also travel very often for work & have stayed at a number of Autograph hotels. The quality if the service from the front desk, valet, & housekeeping was excellent. It’s also in an incredibly convenient location and there are two restaurants within the hotel (1 in the lobby & 1 on the rooftop). I would say this was a top 3 Autograph Hotel that I’ve stayed in. The only improvement I would make is to include a pool and add a microwave in the actual rooms. Having to come to the lobby to heat up food I bought at their restaurant is incredibly inconvenient. They also did not have any mouthwash available, so I had to walk up the street to whole foods. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. It’s probably my favorite hotel in all of NJ.

Excellent, new hotel within walking distance to lots of restaurants and stores. Friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again. Only complaint was the bathroom fan ran all the time and 'rattled' which wasn't always pleasant.

Beautiful hotel!!! The staff at the front desk was very welcoming & helpful. The rooftop bar has amazing drinks and a great view of NYC. The bartenders were very attentive and personable. They suggested a Mezcal drink from their new cocktail menu and it was absolutely delicious.

Beautiful clean hotel, super clean modern bathroom, bed was comfortable I needed an extra blanket and they brought a warm down comforter. The restaurant in the hotel is good we had dinner and breakfast, best scrambled egg ever! The vallet is the way to go,they text you a link to call for your car it was ready immediately!

Love this hotel and its location!! Great location near plenty of great restaurants if u want to go out to eat. Hotel restaurant is also good. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating. I enjoy staying here whenever I go to New Jersey.

Great views of the city, feels like a new hotel, everything is clean and brand new. Very firm and comfortable beds and pillows. Close to shopping, bars, and restaurants that are walkable. I will definitely stay here again when I’m back in the area.

Great hotel. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming and the location is close to where I had business. A lot of great amenities and different options as far as food goes both in and around the area of the hotel. I’d stay here again in the future.
