Hotel Torretta

We had a great week here the staff were friendly and helpful, the food and wine were plentiful and we had a lovely west facing balcony room. Unlike other hotels they provided two comfy chairs. Although they cater for tour groups as well as couples the staff remembered us and treated us as individuals.

Wonderful stay at Hotel Torretta! First class experience from the moment I stepped through the door. This is an exceptionally lovely hotel with incredible customer service who really helped me plan all the day trips and organise taxis. The food every evening was sumptuous and very good value for money, I doubt you will find better in Montecatini! The buffet breakfast was great too. I very much enjoyed the pool and the hotel provides a complimentary towel which is a plus especially if you are limited on luggage. Location wise this is up the hill from the town centre via the Roman spa and park. The train and bus station are near enough and from there I was able to visit Lucca and Florence with ease. I was a solo traveller but the hotel staff couldn’t have been kinder. I look forward to returning one day very soon!

We spent a terrific week at this family run hotel. The staff were all lovely and unfailingly helpful. The restaurant served some of the best food we ate whilst in Italy, and the place itself is beautiful. I would highly recommend Hotel Torretta, and wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

We stayed at this hotel back in 2016 and returned in June 2024. Our experience was just as good as we remember from the first time. The staff are all very friendly and helpful especially Gabriel. We had a Junior Suite which was very nice and kept spotless. The food was generally excellent with 3 or 4 choices for dinner in the evening and a decent wine list. Breakfast is continental but they do also provide scrambled eggs and bacon along with a toasting machine. Outside the pool and jacuzzi were very nice. We found the area around the pool to be quite unkempt though with weeds growing up through the paving. The sunbeds are quite uncomfortable and there are no parasols. There are a few trees around offering some shade however. This was the only negative from our stay though. The train station is about a 20 minute walk away down the hill. We tended to walk down through the park to get to it which was a much nicer walk than going down the main road. We thoroughly recommend going to Lucca which which we liked so much we went back a second time. Trains going to Lucca/Pisa go to the right and those going to Florence to the left by the way. There is only one track at the station so this is important to remember. Train fares are very low compared to the UK also so it’s a very economic way to travel. We went to the 3 tenors concert at the Tetuccio Terme while we were in Montecatini which was pretty good. All the seating is on the same level though so if you’re at the back you can’t see a thing. Lots of people holding up phones to record the show which was also quite annoying. The singers themselves were good though. Montecatini itself was pretty dead during the day although there are plenty of shops. The town came alive in the evening though and was very buzzy. Montecatini Alto is worth a visit on the funicular although once up there there isn’t much to see other than the view. There is a small square with a few restaurants and gift shops. The return journey costs 7.50 euros each. All in all we had a good week here and can thoroughly recommend this hotel for a stay in Montecatini.

We arrived at the hotel on the 18th of April for 4 days.on arrival we had a free upgrade to a room with a balcony at the rear of the hotel which had beautiful views. So thank you very much for that.very much appreciated. Rooms were nice in tuscany style.beds were very comfortable. We ate every evening at the hotel which was very nice.it was actually cheaper to eat and drink in the hotel than eating out.but what really makes this hotel is the staff.they made us feel very welcome.always smiling and very helpful. So thanks to everyone at the hotel for making our stay wonderful.you are doing a fantastic job.all the best phil and jay.

We loved our stay in this very friendly family run hotel. We especially enjoyed the food, three courses every night to choose from and an excellent salad buffet, if you have room! Wine list reasonable too. all served with a smile and nothing too much trouble. The hotel itself is set in gorgeous grounds just slightly uphill from town, which makes it a perfect quiet but convenient location. With a wonderful park just across the way, which you can stroll through into town.We did not want to leave! Montecatini, with having a railway station, was great for exploring many places such as Lucca and Florence. Regular trains.

The Hotel Torretta is a lovely hotel in the spa town of Montecatini Terme, Italy. The hotel is in an excellent position close to the town and funicular railway. It is a short walk to the railway station where regular trains take you to Pisa, Florence and Lucca. The food is very good quality and there are extensive choices at all mealtimes, nothing is too much trouble for the owners and staff. All the rooms have balconies and some of them are overlooking the pool.The pool and gardens are kept immaculate and there is some welcome shade when the sun is too hot.

We had a fantastic stay in this lovely family run hotel. The rooms were big and lovely with comfortable beds and nice sized bathroom. Balcony very nice and having a fridge and safe in the room was great. The hotel had everything you need for a relaxing stay. The food was lovely varied menus and plentiful. The wine beer cocktails great. There are lovely seating areas to enjoy a drink inside and outside along with a great pool and hot tub. We were 5 mins walk from most attractions in the town with parks and shops restaurants and a theatre/opera house. We went to the 3 tenors there and had a very special evening. The train station is 15 mins walk and you can get a train to Florence Pisa Lucca etc. Personally my favourite was lucca well worth a visit and only 10 eur return and half hour journey. I would highly recommend a stay at this excellent hotel in this beautiful town.

I visited this charming hotel from 28th August-8th September as part of a group of 40 people on a Bridge holiday. From the moment we arrived to a very warm welcome, until the moment we left I can honestly say that the Simoncini family and their wonderful staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. I’d like to give a special mention to the lovely Anna Lisa on reception who was always extremely helpful and offered some good advice on places to visit. She was happy to print train timetables and other information, always with a smile. The restaurant staff also worked extremely hard looking after our group who had an early dinner every evening. Fabio in particular is wonderful, so helpful and again with a lovely smile, even under pressure. We enjoyed a delicious waiter served 3 course dinner every evening plus there was a salad buffet. The food was freshly cooked with lovely home made soups and pasta plus a choice of 3 main courses. Compliments to the chef and his staff. The weather was generally extremely hot and I really appreciated the excellent air conditioning in my bedroom. The pool was unheated but very refreshing to dip into on a hot afternoon. There are plenty of sun beds although they were a bit hard! One suggestion would be that the hotel maybe invest in some cushions for the sun beds and also maybe have a freezer full of ice creams that could be purchased on hot afternoons. My friend and I probably would have bought one most days! The hotel is very well situated near a beautiful park via which it’s only a 15 minute walk into Montecatini; it’s also only a very short distance from the funicular railway.
