Spacious and nicely furnished property in a lovely peaceful setting. Our room had elevated and expansive views across autumn leaves and the river to the mountains - just a perfect scene. So impressed were we that we decided to stay an extra night despite the risk of forfeiting our tariff for the next night on our itinerary. Phillip was an excellent host and the breakfast was very good.

Such a warm welcome with everything we could have wanted accommodated. Breakfast was definitely one of the highlights with homemade jam and bread as well as espresso/tea. An honor bar with a number of drink options and a porch looking out on the mountains were also nice touches. The rooms had all the perfect touches from space heaters in the bathrooms so you were toasty getting out of the shower, drinking water, heated mattress pads, toiletries and the sound or crickets outside as you fall asleep. Book one of the upstairs rooms if available- there are so many windows and the views are lovely.

Lovely house, good size bedrooms, a full kitchen and a cozy living room. The garden is nice and close to the river and the host is very helpful and friendly. He made us a huge breakfast that had all the goodies one could wish for. A pity we only stayed for one night but we had a roadtrip to complete…

Only stayed for one night and wished it had been for longer. Philip and Daphne are wonderful hosts and everything about the Lodge is perfect. Our room, Riverside, was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious, with lots of homemade preserves, granola and meusli. In a very quiet location yet only 15 minutes walk to the eating places. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for one night on our way to Nelson. The hosts Philip and Daphne welcomed us and our room was comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. We had a decent evening meal but the outstanding breakfast was the real treat. I would definitely stay here again.

Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Philip was an amazing host, very friendly and really fun and interesting. The setting of the B&B has a lovely outlook and the room and bed were very comfortable. There is a lovely lounge to sit in and enjoy a nightcap. Great breakfast too. Can’t think of anywhere better to spend a night in Murchison.

This place is amazing. Went with my daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren and we had the whole house when we got there late in the day Philip had a roaring fire going in the living room was amazingly cozy rooms, extremely comfortable and very well appointed, and in the morning Philippa cooked one of the best B&B breakfast I've ever had bread was homemade as were the jams. I can very highly recommend this place. Philip was extremely friendly and welcoming, and made it an extraordinary stay

Superb! After a long and difficult journey through the Lewis pass just before it was closed due to snow. I arrived cold and wet from charging my car. Imagine my delight when I was met by Philip (in the rain) to welcome me to their adorable B & B. The fire was lit in the wood burner in their cosy living room... just for me, as I was the only guest that night. A very comfortable night in their modern "Fantail" room was followed by an excellent breakfast, fresh expresso coffee and fantastic (Swiss) bread made fresh that morning !

5 out of 5 Great stay, hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The common area was fully equipped with snacks and games. Breakfast cooked to order with hot and cold options. Farm fresh free range eggs from chickens on the property. Nice walk to sit and relax by the river. Close enough to walk to town for shops and cafes.
