Spark by Hilton Nacogdoches

We stopped for an overnight stay on a four-day road trip. This hotel had very good ratings and a pretty cheap price. We found out when we got there the reason why. The hotel has undergone a sale, is changing its name to Spark, and is in the middle of a massive remodel. There were huge rolls of carpet in the lobby. Construction was ongoing so there were supplies and material stacked in the drive. And the smell of paint fumes throughout. That was the reason for the reduced price. We stayed because it had already been paid for. The actual room was quite nice and clean. The seats were clean. The water was hot. The amenities in the room were nice. The breakfast, if you can call it that, was basically toast and bagels. There were no proteins. So if you want eggs or sausage, you have to go eat somewhere else. Thankfully, once you’re in the room, you could not smell the paint fumes I would’ve usually given this hotel 4 stars. Because of the crappy breakfast, I would’ve given it 3 stars. Because of the surprise construction, paint fumes, and having to walk around construction equipment, I am only giving this 2 stars

They are renovating the hotel which they didn’t mention when we booked but it didn’t really affect us. They are going from a Super 8 by Wyndham to a Spark by Hilton. Our first impression of the hotel was okay as we booked into a newly renovated room which was very nice to start out. And then, our neighbors moved in and we realized the walls are so thin and so badly insulated we could hear their entire conversation (and they weren’t overly loud at first). As the evening progressed it got considerably worse, and we could literally hear EVERYTHING they were doing… it was extremely annoying and frustrating until late into the night. We can’t even blame the guests, the sound insulation is the problem. After a bad night with little sleep (in an uncomfortable bed), we went down for coffee and breakfast only to find there was no hot breakfast as advertised! They served the worst, cheapest quality food you can think of! No fresh fruit, no boiled eggs, nothing even remotely healthy and no hot food at all… Even the yoghurt was cheap and nasty! It was terrible! We had a coffee and left to eat breakfast elsewhere even though we had paid for a hot breakfast. On a positive note, the staff were pleasant enough, the hotel is located centrally, and luckily we only stayed for 2 nights. Sadly, we will not be back.

If i could give -5 star..Worst hotel ever..had reservations for 4 nights, was charged and confrim only to show up to them being overbooked, staff spent 45min to find us another hotel was told by manager Amanda that they would cover the bill, only for her to go back on her word, stating they will cover 1 night stay and we be on our own. We are active duty military family traveling to enrolled our freshman into SFA, and college move in was happening and hotels are limited, what turned out was a joyful moment for our freshman ruined by having to be stressed out by finding a place to stay. We tried to communicate with someone higher with only I will have my GM contact you..the GM did contact me with apologies and no solutions..I asked for higher management was told by Amanda that GM was the highest in the their management structure. I would ask that all military veterans and retirees to avoid this place.. how the treated me and family was horrible. Show them we will not take this kind of treatment. And if anyone knows who the owners or corporate contacts please show them this post. This management team also manages Hampton Inn and Suites in then same area.. be aware of the safety issues of mattresses stacked to the nearly to roof in the entrance and hallway blockage as well..(photos) Thank you.

My recent stay at this hotel was highly disappointing and far below expectations. I encountered several significant issues: 1. Noise Levels The noise from both the extensive construction on-site and other guests was unbearable, making it impossible to sleep. This ruined the primary purpose of my stay—rest and relaxation. 2. Cleanliness and Maintenance: The room was dirty, with hair on the soap and visibly worn, rusted fixtures. The lighting was poor, with several bulbs out, which made the room feel dingy and uncomfortable. 3. Condition of the Facilities: The hotel appeared outdated and poorly maintained. The old and rusted fixtures only added to the negative experience. 4. Lack of Communication: Had I known the construction was so extensive, I would have never chosen to stay at this hotel. The fact that this was not communicated in advance is unacceptable. 5. Early Check-In Fee: We were charged an additional $60 for early check-in, but there was absolutely no value in this. The room was subpar, and the fee seemed unjustified given the poor conditions. Manager Unavailability: When I attempted to lodge a complaint about these issues, I was informed that the manager responsible for the hotel was unavailable. This lack of access to management is unacceptable and further added to my frustration.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Súper 8, and I must say that my check-in experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and a genuine hospitality that set the tone for my entire stay. The check-in process was efficient and seamless.

Only thing I would change is the pool area. Inside and way to much chlorine, but the kids loved it. Staff was helpful in every way and everything was just like it should have been. Have stayed there before and will pick this location again if the opportunity arrises.
