Albatross Motel

Loved the view from our room, so peaceful, warm and great space to spread out,

Firstly my late check in wasn’t a choice, we asked about this prior to booking, if host couldn’t accomodate or didn’t like it they could have said so and we would have booked elsewhere. So I don’t see why they kept bringing it up. It was in a lockbox so it’s not like you were up till 11:30pm waiting for us. Secondly despite leaving the apartment in a clean situation with dishes washed and rubbish put in the tiny bins provided, having had to put a few bottles next to these bins as there were no space to put them anywhere else. Host reports stating “we left the apartment messy with rubbish left everywhere!” Far fetched from the truth!!! We know how extremely tidy we are!!! Perhaps if you provided bins that weren’t so tiny, we could have fit all our rubbish inside them but putting them next to the bins doesn’t make the apartment messy. There were no other mess left anywhere else! Wet Bathroom & Toilet!! Who even uses them these days? It was clammy after showers, you couldn’t go in to use the toilet with socks on you had to wear your shoes, outside the bathroom needed towels. I even had to request having the toilet cleaned again, and the host said oh it’s newly renovated LOL why don’t you invest in shower screens, so the it’s not such a gross feeling and save having to have signs saying slippery when wet request bath matt or more towels if needed! It’s definitely needed! Following are things that weren’t great about the accomodation that other guests had previously mentioned to the host of which nothing has been done about which means they won’t be changing anything moving forward. No sound proof doors or windows, you can hear trucks driving past! Noisy! tiny fridge that’s way to low you have to squat to put things inside it Tv is in a hazardous spot where people are likely to bumb their heads on it rubbish bins are tiny and inside a shelf space, don’t even think about putting it next to them bins! The host will deem you messy! WILL NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Great location. Room was clean with all the amenities that we wanted. Pool and hot tub were bonus extras. Very good value for money. Will stay there again next time we are there. Overall a great economical stay. .

I recently stayed at Albatross motel and had a fantastic experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making check-in a breeze. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The location was also great, with easy access to nearby attractions and dining options.

My sister was flying in from Melbourne and the staff were great re checking our progress driving from Wellington. We just made it to the motel by 9pm! Loved the friendly staff, the cleanliness of rooms, and the general ambience of the place. Excellent parking - each motel had its own allotted space. Everything was in close proximity and we had a wonderful time. Will definitely stay there next time we're in Napier.

My colleague and I needed some urgent accommodation in Napier to support a customer. The Albatross had a twin room unit that suited our needs during the busy part of the summer season in the Hawke's Bay. The room was fresh, clean and welcoming. Excellent Wi-Fi speed! The shower was good with good pressure. We would certainly stay at the Albatross again. The BayView hotel just down the road was perfect for a walk for a very nice meal and a large selection of both local and national craft beers. Great garden bar to enjoy a lovely summers evening. Or I'm sure a cracking fire in the cooler months.

The fridge was extremely noisy during the night. The shower only had one heat setting and is fixed so high up the wall it was basically useless. The lights were so dim making the room dark. In saying all this it was comfortable, clean and staff were accommodating

Lovely hosts. Very accommodating. Room was suitable for my family of 3. Beds were comfortable and great there were enough PowerPoints next to the beds to charge our devices. We stayed in a unit downstairs and although it mentions foot traffic, we didn’t hear anything at all.

The room we had was clean, had what we needed, have no complaints. Nice welcoming staff. Comfy beds. Facilities were good. Couldn't find anywhere cheaper in Napier. I recommend this hotel. 3 and a half.
