Stayed at this hotel for the 1-week conference. Convenient location (directly across the convention center) and overall a very good property. Nice facilities and decent rooms. Had the access to club lounge at the ground floor so spent some mornings and evenings with breakfast, snacks and happy hours. Evening staff at the Club Lounge was super friendly and caring! The issue I had is how the front desk people treat customers differently: the lady at reception did not acknowledge my titanium status nor bother to inform me anything about the member benefits upon check-in, all I received is "you can scan the QR code on the paper and figure it out yourself". However, my colleague who check-in right after me (same status) received a very warm welcome, thorough explanation about the benefits and was even offered $30 daily drinks credits. I was like, WHAT? We both had the same status and I did not even receive an acknowledgement for being a premium member? To add salt to the wound, I also did not get the room that was promised to me on the Marriott phone app. I understand if it is the day before conference and if there was no room upgrade available at check-in then that is alright, but I checked-in 24 hours before arrival and it was not busy when I arrived at the hotel. Hence witnessing my colleague who did not check-in in advance but receiving the room upgrade upon request made me feel even more upsetting. It is simply annoying to see front desk staff giving customers differential treatment...... Having said, the overall hotel stay is still considered pleasant - I would rate the facilities a 4.5-star but the service 2-star. Just not sure I would come back to this hotel in the future. Will definitely try other Marriott properties in the area for future trips.
