The Lions

Our first visit and certainly won't be the last. What a lovely host Pablo is,he made is very welcome. The room was beautiful, tasteful, and the biggest bathroom we have seen! Everything, clean, tidy Lovely breakfast Only a 10 minute walk into Newark so an ideal was. We will certainly be back and thoroughly recommend.

What an absolute joy it was to stay here, the whole place was amazing, the room I was in hence the name was fit for a king, the family that own it and run it where so nice and welcoming. The garden was amazing to sit in especially first thing in the morning with the sunrise it was a great start to the day. The breakfast was perfect, basically you couldn't ask for more and you would definitely get this personal touch and service at a hotel. The prices were literally a couple of pounds more than a hotel but you got a service you wouldn't get at a hotel so it's definitely worth it and I'll definitely be returning. Thank you for a great visit.

The Lions is 5 star for us. We felt so well looked after during our 2 night stay. Pablo and John pay attention to the details that matter, so welcoming, beautiful decor, fantastic breakfast, lovely garden area: a truly wonderful place to stay.

Wowsa! Beautiful house and garden. Very nice area as well.Not too far to walk into the town if you needed to. Lovely room, fantastic hosts, great breakfast! Even gave us a glass of wine at night! Hosts were super attentive! What more would you need!

Wow, what an amazing stay. The hosts John and Pablo were so welcoming. They even invited us to join them and their friends for drinks & dessert as they finished their meal. The b&b is outstanding and no attention to detail is left. Our room was out of this world, with the en-suite being bigger than the actual room! Pablo cooked us a delicious breakfast the following morning, catering for our every whim. I can't recommend The Lions enough. What a wonderful visit 💖

Lovely stay for the wife’s birthday just before Christmas. John and Pablo are the perfect hosts in this lovely hotel offering a fantastic breakfast to start your day. The hotel has plenty of character and is only 10 minutes walk from the town centre.

I was travelling for business and arrived in the dark, I was flustered as I couldn't find it and Pablo stood outside with an umbrella and looked out for me which was so nice. Nothing was too much trouble, from carrying my case, shutting my blinds, showing me how to work different elements of the room and asking what I would like for breakfast. As a woman travelling alone I look endlessly for places wuth great reviews so that I feel safe and I can honestly say I'm so glad I selected here! The reviews really don't lie! Thanks so much for accommodating me and a lovely welcome. The bedding is AMAZING, high thread count so super soft and luxurious, the room was SPOTLESSLY clean, it was nice and warm and just overall a beautiful space to relax in.

My room was beautiful, with tasteful antique furniture, fascinating artwork and a beautiful colour palette throughout. Very comfortable bed and exceptional cleanliness. The hosts were lovely to me, and surprised me with a glass of champagne in the evening. The guest lounge is also very serene and cosy, with beautiful furniture and a lovely selection of coffee table books. I enjoyed a sumptuous bath and the perfectly fluffy towels smelled so good I kept going back to sniff them again! Breakfast was cooked perfectly (eggs and smoked salmon) and I was offered more of the lovely granary toast with homemade jam! Coffee was also very good and I was given a view of the beautiful garden. All in all - I can happily say it's the best place I've ever stayed. My only wish is that it wasn't in Newark! I was only here for business. If I'm ever here again I'll book again for sure.
