The White Hart Inn

We stayed here on our way to Southampton feom Staffordshire. The room was perfect with lovely crisp bedding, huge soft towels and a big comfortable room. We had an evening meal in the pub which was reasonably priced and delicious. We all had eggs benedict for breakfast which was perfectly cooked. The staff were so hard working and friendly. Overall we absolutely recommend this place and would love to stay again.

Lovely little country pub in a great location. Were made to feel very welcome by the staff. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Lovely large and fluffy bath towels. Only downside to the bathroom was the lack of a handle in the bath to assist getting in and out. Bed was very comfortable with super bed linen. Also, they are not mean with the tea bags and coffee in the room; sometimes a problem in places! All in all a most enjoyable stay. Breakfast was very good, great choice on offer. The "full English" was excellent, well cooked and delicious and lots of toast and croissants. I would thoroughly recommend the 'White Hart' to anyone!!

Lovely pub in a quiet countryside location. The garden is perfect and the beer even better. Rooms spacious clean and the showers good. Stella was a very accommodating host for our group of 8 friends having a reunion. Although there was a problem with the kitchen extractor due to the heat we had a great curry delivered and the buffet breakfast was better than fine. Would stay there again if in the area. Isn’t far from highclere/ Downton abbey.

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights and we had a lovely time. There was nothing to find fault with, the room was very comfortable and well equipped with teabags, coffee etc and bottled water. We arrived on May 1st a cold and wet afternoon where we were met by Stella the owner and Clint the manager. We had already booked for a Sunday roast so with a couple of real ales a roast dinner and a log fire - who can ask for more? The breakfast was unbelievable, so much choice. My husband who is doing Slimming World at the moment was trying to watch his weight, but with the help from the staff his cooked breakfast was cooked just as he liked it. We will definintely return as the inn is situated for visits to many places ie the canals and Highclere Castle. We would like to thank Shannon and Liv as well.

Booked for a family stay back in November. Today, less than 24 hours before we are due to arrive, after accepting payment, The White Hart cancelled due to “no refurbishment”. Not answering calls, can’t leave a review on social media, says it all really. Terrible service, also terrible support from ***********

Fantastic find - comfortable rooms with great food in a beautiful area. We met up as a group, loved the rooms with their new bathrooms, found a beautiful walk through parkland (which we did the second day too!) had drinks and a delicious meal by the fire, and slept in very comfortable rooms with lovely decor, plenty of tea and coffee, peace and quiet. Breakfast was a feast and we felt very welcome.

We would very much like to thank Stella, Clint and the team for our recent two night break at the White Hart Inn, a lovely country inn in a very peaceful location. They all made us feel very welcome and were extremely attentive to both us and our cocker spaniel, Louis, throughout our visit. Our room overlooking the garden was perfect for us, being very clean, spacious and comfortable and being in such a location, ideal for our dog too. On the path outside our room, a table and chairs allowed us to enjoy a drink in the late summer sunshine. Even though we ran out of time to take our dog on the longer walk that Stella recommended to us, starting only a few yards away from the inn, we did take him for a nice walk on the footpath opposite the inn leading to the fields. We enjoyed excellent "full English" breakfasts and evening meals which were delicious and very reasonably priced. Clint made sure that Louis, our spaniel, did not feel left out at breakfast time too providing him with his own cooked sausage! Hopefully we will visit again in the near future. We would highly recommend this inn and the excellent hospitality that awaits you. Overall, we would recommend this place to anyone and would love to stay again. Having selected the White Hart Inn as our base for a visit to Highclere Castle we returned home delighted with our choice of accommodation.Our room was well appointed , clean and very comfortable, breakfast served in the morning offered a good selection , was plentiful and prepared to a high standard. Our stay was for a Monday and Tuesday night and unfortunately on those nights the menu is limited , but we ate at the Inn on both nights and found the food to be delicious and again to a high standard.Stella and her team made us very welcome and were extremely pleasant and attentive. Hopefully we will visit again in the future. We would highly recommend this inn.

What a gem of a pub, in a quiet location. Stella, Clint and the team were so friendly and welcoming. The food was great both in the evening and breakfast. Quality ingredients, well cooked and good wine. Our room was spacious, with a large shower and so peaceful. Great to have a table and chairs to sit outside the room to enjoy a drink in the sun, overlooking the garden was lovely. We contacted Stella before we stayed to enquire about breakfast and she was very accommodating coming up with a suggestion to allow us to enjoy breakfast and make it to parkrun.
