The first room was terrible, very small and up at least three flights of stairs. There were tiny pillows so thin that they were useless, had to put my coat and towel underneath, too. Tiny gap between toilet and fixed head shower meant I kept brushing toilet bowl with my leg. New room offered in annex for second night was much better, but still had the the most flimsiest pillows I've ever seen. Curtains are not blackout type, and a light was on outside window all night, making it hard to sleep. Turned up for one continental breakfast without pre-booking and staff member was rude because I hadn't booked beforehand, so I went elsewhere second morning. Both rooms made my eyes water because of the cleaning materials used. Shower over bath in second room worked well, but had no non slip surface or mat, so was treacherous. Won't stay again.

Excellent venue for our daughter’s 21st birthday party. The team at The Borough Arms Hotel were so helpful and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. They did everything they could to make sure the party went smoothly. Food was outstanding, special room rates were available for anyone staying over and the DJ was fabulous. Wouldn’t hesitate to use again for special occasions.

We went for a triple celebration, my wifes birthday, her retirement & our 39th Wedding Anniversary. We had a party of 16 for a meal which was absolutely amazing & everyone enjoyed & the room we stayed in overnight was gorgeous, great night and one which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. From booking in February to the night itself everything was great, thanks to everyone at the Borough Arms for making it so special.

This hotel needs a massive refurbishment. I don’t think it’s been touched since the 1980s. That said, the staff could not be more hard working or hospitable. They are outstanding and beyond 5*. The place is immaculately clean and for all it’s on a busy road, there was little noise overnight. The shower pressure was excellent. There is a prevailing smell of mould throughout the hotel. Dinner and breakfast were mixed bags. The burger was hard and didn’t taste homemade. The full English breakfast was amazing but the eggs Benedict is best avoided. I wouldn’t rush back but I’d definitely stay again if in the area. It was very good value for money.

Stayed for one on business. Amazing service from when I checked in to when I checked out. Lovely and comfortable room.Fantastic evening meal and breakfast. Large car park so very handy. Would highly recommend. Thank you. I will see you again ! P.S the bar staff are amazing !

We had our wedding reception here on 31/08/24 and had the most perfect day. A big part of this was down to the staff at the hotel, in particular Jennifer our wedding coordinator. She listened to all our requests and everything on the day was just as we imagined it. All of our guests to both the day and the night reception commented on how beautiful the food was and how helpful all the staff were. We can't thank Mr. Sheik and his staff enough.

We recently celebrated our Golden Wedding in The Ostler restaurant with family and friends.We really enjoyed it and all of our guests said what a wonderful time they had.The quality of the food and drinks were excellent and the staff were outstanding.Well done Mr Sheikh and staff.

Staff very polite, hotel clean. The service was outstanding. The staff will go out of their way to make sure that you are happy. I strongly recommend this hotel for a wedding because it meets everything you need, it's all in house so no one as to worry about searching for a venue/ dj/buffet. They do the lot.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have stayed in the Borough Arms Hotel numerous times over the past 2 months due to working in the area. My rooms have been spotless , the food above and beyond my expectations. Mr Sheikh the owner and all the lovely staff have been so welcoming and accommodating, nothing is ever too much trouble for them. I hope to return to Stoke in the near future and will most definitely book again with this hotel and highly recommend the whole experience as a hugely positive one and I stay in many hotels but rarely find that I feel the need to write a review . Thank you to all the staff and Assam
