Rodeway Inn

Yes, this is a basic motel, but it's a very good one. Our room was very clean, and felt secure and safe. We were in the back section of the motel, far away from street noise and in a quiet area with plenty of parking. The room had all the usual amenities, and a surprising amount of extra space, shelves etc for luggage. The bathroom was very good quality. Overall, we were very pleasantly surprised with this place, and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. There were a few continental breakfast items (wrapped pastries, muffins etc), which were available throughout the day, not just in the morning.

This motel is conveniently located on US101, yet is very quiet thanks to its generous setback from the highway itself. Coupled with the fact that almost all of the motel is single-story, you are likely to have an undisturbed night's sleep. The folks at this motel go the extra mile, making it an especially attractive value for a Rodeway Inn. The refrigerator and microwave were good quality. The internet was excellent. The shower had a removable handle and good flow. The towels and bed linens were of the sort usually found at a more expensive motel. The toiletries included more than the bare-bones soap and shampoo. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The room was very clean. The breakfast offerings included pastries, cereal, and coffee. They even provide free local tide tables. Mr. Lee, the host, is very pleasant. This is an excellent value.

The check in was horrible. I was quoted $438.96 for our stay but the guy Lee said he was the owner and charged me $496.04. I showed him my reservation confirmation and stated I was suppose to pay only $438.96. He said I could either pay the $496.04 or find another hotel. I even read the confirmation out loud to him and he again stated not my problem. It clearly states taxes are already included in my $438.96 price. So I had really no choice but to pay the $496.04 I booked this trip months ago. Will I ever stay at a Rodeway inn again no. I have traveled a lot and booked many rooms this is the first and last time I will ever be upcharged like this. Posting proof in comments

Did not expect much, expectations were met. Bring slippers as carpet is skeevy. This is a good choice if sleep is not important to you. Being an older property, all noise comes through the windows including the neighbor's early morning departure. The mattress seemed ok at first but on trying to get out of bed the next morning it was apparent a chiropractic adjusment would be needed. Lack of sleep was also aided by an approximately7000 watt security light aimed at the window. Eye mask and ear plugs should be issued. Free breakfast was available all day...muffins being the only thing on the menu. Hubs made his own coffee in the pot as it was out and no one apparently on duty. You can be assured of the cleanliness of the room due to the overpowering scent of bleach wafting out of the bathroom. To be fair, cleaning crew tries hard. The extra sink and counter space was nice to spread out on.

We used our points to stay here during the Newport Marathon because we couldn't find another hotel to stay in for the night prior to the Marathon. We were so completely surprised by the cleanliness and offering for being one of the lowest price hotels on the Oregon Coast. Our room was HUGE with a full kitchen - the only drawback was the horribly small shower. The pillows were great, the bed was comfortable (better than ANY of the hotels we have stayed at for quite some time and certainly not expected from a budget hotel) and everything was SUPER SUPER clean. No smells. The check in employee was EXCEPTIONALLY nice, had some great coffee made when we arrived and snacks available complimentary. We were even allowed to check out late since we were watching our son run the marathon. YES it is right on Hwy 101 but once I was asleep I didn't hear a thing. This was our first stay EVER at a Rodeway Inn but after this great experience and the low price we will definitely try this one and others again. Thank you for such a pleasant surprise.

Even though this is not a 5 star motel, it was very clean and quiet. It is a little dated but a nice motel for the price. Friendly staff. There are a couple of buildings that comprise this motel. I would stay here again

We were pleased to find this place on a Friday night at a cost significantly less than local competitors. Our room was obviously recently updated, clean and filled with thoughtful touches (like an ice cube tray in the little freezer, an extra blanket and lots of drawers). Snacks/breakfast available 24/7. Definitely recommend!

Costumer service definitely is slacking. Called the office 6 times on check-in day and no answer. Bed was topical hotel style. I tried to go into the office at 7:45am when their “complimentary breakfast” starts at 7:30am with the door locked and no one around. Since no one was around to take the key for our check out at 9:30 I had to leave a note. So don’t go there expecting costumer service.

Where to start? Checked in at 1pm, but wasn’t allowed into room until 3pm because they were taking their sweet time cleaning. Got charged twice by the manager and was told “the system will eventually work it’s self out” and I’ll get refunded the extra charge. Office temperature is around the temperature of the sun. “Continental Breakfast” is just wrapped muffins and bagels with nothing else working. Only upside was a $5 discount for booking online.
