Managers and staff members have changed since this hotel first opened four years ago, but I have always enjoyed my stay here--and so has my dog, Sadiq--and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else when I come to the Ft Walton/Destin area. I've never left a negative review in four years (12 trips of a week or more) and have nothing to pass along but praise for this outstanding hotel and the family of professionals who keep it running. From my last visit in September 2024, I'd like to pass along special kudos to Laurance, Sheldon, Hannah, Eric, Jackie, Dameon, and Grant. They all recognized me from my previous visit--almost a year earlier--and couldn't do more to make me happy! The accommodations were excellent: Comfortable bed, adequate desk space and wifi speed, bathroom adequate and kept clean, well appointed fitness area, and excellent pool and grilling area for meeting people/entertainment. A special thanks to Eric and the clean-up crew he leads for always checking my room to make sure me and my dog had what we needed throughout our stay. Since COVID, many other hotels have reduced support and I was lucky to get a service once a week--at other places. Not here! At Townplace Suites in Niceville, they checked on me and my pup daily and Eric and his team freshened the room (new towels, toiletries, removed trash) and kept the place clean as a whistle throughout my stay--and everything with a very positive attitude! The complimentary breakfast is so much better than other hotels who pretend offerings in the morning. The staff I met here (Hanna and Grant specifically) really showed they cared that we enjoyed the spread they put out and I could tell they take pride in doing a good job and offering something good for patrons to eat. Lastly, a special call out to Jackie for showing such genuine affection for my dog. "Dog friendly" is a real benefit for travelers, but all the staff here (and Jackie in particular) love our pets and really made us feel welcome!
