Budget Inn-Norfolk, VA - Oceanview

So I hate being the person that says stay away. I understand some people will complain about anything, but this place allows you to complain about everything. Check in was okay and the staff that I interacted with was nice and that's where it ends. Everything else was HORRIBLE! I feel bad in a way because it looks like they're trying to do updates but this property needs to shut down and do a full remodel inside and out. Traffic on a Friday afternoon is horrible at the intersection this motel sits at. It took me 15 minutes to get 1/4 mile from the hotel just to check in. Then the police were dealing with an individual in the parking lot. I checked in at the office and noticed some questionable characters in the parking area, which is under the building as it is raised up. I got into my room and noticed a weird smell and couldn't figure it out at first and then realized it was fresh paint. I tried to use the TV and the remote was sitting on the desk under the tv face down with the back removed and no batteries! I got batteries from the desk and still couldn't get it to work so maintenance came up because I had an issue with the toilet (I clogged it). He had to go get another remote and then got the tv working properly.  Since we weren't staying long after this we gathered out things and headed out. I wish I would have done a little more of a look on the room. The only other thing I noticed before we headed out was the toilet paper roller was on the floor behind the door and the TP was on the back of the toilet and the shower had stains around the fixtures. Upon leaving I noticed the shady characters I had witnessed earlier still hanging around the parking area and looked around and noticed there was no cameras around and we were out of view of the office. It was about 11pm when we returned and I began to notice other things, on top of more shady folks hanging around. It all started because I had no soap in my room at all, which ****** as it had been a warm day and I wanted to clean up before bed. I then noticed that the drains in the sink and tub had paint in them, so it's apparent they disposed of paint by pouring it down the drain. When I went to lay in my bed I then noticed the blankets were just thin paper like, mine had a cigarette burn in it, in a non smoking room, and I had no flat sheet on the bed. I was basically covering up with a piece of paper. So then I decided to be more critical at this point.  Here's what else there was: the mirror was old and had black spots all over it, the drain on the "kitchen" sink were visible and dirty, the tub was stained, there were more stains on the shower fixtures and the shelves, the cooktop was missing a knob, there was no pots, pans or cooking utensils despite being labeled as a room with kitchen, the tv picture wasn't centered and you missed part of the picture, the towels had holes in them, the kitchen cabinets were dirty on the inside, to include dead bugs some of which were roaches, the refrige

Room 217/218 Reserved because website said - newly renovated Booked 2 rooms - 2 queen beds with kitchenette Arrived and the Grneral Manager stated they do not have any queen beds in the Hotel and only the front rooms (single bed) were renovated. Rooms were dirty- broken furniture- no safety lock- springs coming out if mattress- no mirror- walls and ceiling were nasty! We could not cancel the rooms so went and bought Lysol spray and wipes to clean and sanitize the rooms! Dead bugs in bathroom light. Toilet would not flush. Power cord ripped out of wall with a nail sticking out! False advertising on website!

1st impression-what did I got us into? Worst Motel6 we've stayed with. Does the chain ever inspect their franchises for their reputation? If not for an overnighter I will not stay here. Filthy and not maintained exterior. Overflowing rubbish bins, smell of urine everywhere one walks and worse, noisy guests playing loud music almost through the night and reving their engines at strange hours. We stayed on 3rd floor thinking it'll.be quiet from noisy footsteps above yet next door was just as noisy. Room wise, the hotel was trying to upgrade. Clean and comfortable. Big King bed but had a smell. Mismatched bath towels, 1 fluffy long beige and 1 very worn shorter white, both with black things sticking between threads.. Looked like used towels, not changed! No mirror in room. No toilet roll holder. Detached sink tap. I even became a plumber to make the WC flush. Bedsheet and comforter has holes in them and probably not new as there are stains on the underside of the comforter white sheet. The floor is sandy and I assume it has never been cleaned. (Going into the bathtub for shower the white tub was stained by my dirty feet with black dirt from walking g barefoot) Yes there's a TV, fridge and microwave in the room but they smell and I assume never cleaned after each guest checks-out. I can go on but rushing to check-out and get out of here. Another thing, my Credit Card showed a $7 charge from the hotel but I was never told when I checked-in. Its a small amount. How can I be charged without being asked? Integrity!

worst hotel I ever stayed at I can't even use my security lock on my door I don't feel comfortable it quoted me one price and when I got here it was totally different very I'm happy with this hotel will never stay here again

I wish I'd taken more photos, but we were running away. The walls were filthy, the toilet bowl was ditry and smeared, and the tub filled with grime. The mattress had 3 layers of coverings, but when lifted it was covered with human and animal hair, and between mattress and box spring had roaches and possibly bed bugs. We went downstairs to explain this, showed photos of the bugs and explained we could not stay, but she refused to give us a refund even though we had checked in minutes before.

I walked in and had to wait ten minutes to even get acknowledged because the employees were too busy talking/yelling at each other. Hopefully in the morning I can speak to a manager. This is not the way to run a business. All of the employees either need replaced or need to be retrained in customer service.

Tout est médiocre. C'est horrible, je ne peux pas croire qu'un établissement de ce genre soit sur *********** et sur TripAdvisor. Sale, mal entretenu, personnel désagréable. Tout était tellement mauvais que nous ne sommes pas restés sur place et avons quitté pour un autre hôtel.
