The Walnut Tree Hotel

The hotel is situated on the busy A38 but is not affected by traffic noise. All the staff are polite and considerate and go the extra mile to provide good service The food is outstanding ; beautifully presented and prepared. And it tastes great too! Good bar too which is imp because there’s little else to find a drink in the village. Ideal for short or longer stays if you have a car. Taunton is clos for good shopping and the Somerset levels a dozen miles away. I’d stay there again anytime.

I booked a suite which was really spacious with a large super king sized bed, a sofa, large smart tv and a fridge. The bathroom was super clean with a brilliant shower. Dinner was reasonably priced and tasty. I stayed as it was close to a course I was doing and would certainly go back. Very good value for money.

Stayed overnight on our way to Cornwall. Friendly staff and a clean spacious room, bed comfortable, would benefit from an update as furniture a liitle dated and curtains not hung very well, but these are minor points. The bar and dining areas were lovely and comfortable, our evening meal and breakfast very good and reasonably priced. Would stay again.

We stayed for 1 night as a stop over whilst travelling to Cornwall. The hotel is just off the M5 which is great. We arrived at 2am after being delayed. The night staff were great and very friendly. There is plenty of parking. The room we were given was spacious and very clean and comfortable. I cannot comment on breakfast as we left again at 6am but we will certainly return to this hotel.

Very large room. But room smelt very damp,of mould. I had to put up with smell for 2 days... As I hate complaining. Bed wasn't very comfortable atal. Not very clean, thick dust in bathroom. Furniture has seen better days,needs a good clean,smelt auful. Staff were lovely. Food in restaurant was lovely too.

Daniel was helpful and welcoming from our first phone call to book until the morning we left. The hotel is in a great location to explore Somerset and it is great value for money. The bedroom was very large, clean and comfortable and a pull out bed provided for a child. Way better value and comfort than the comparable hotel chains.

We visit the Walnut Tree 7 or 8 times a year and receive a consistently high level of service and friendly welcome. We normally try to get down early enough on a Friday to be able to eat in the restaurant as the food is excellent. The bar serves a local ale, normally Otter, as well as a good range of gins, cocktails and the usual bar offerings. The bar and restaurant are open to non residents so if you're visiting friends/family in the area, they can join you for a meal of a drink. The rooms we have stayed in have been a good size, well equipped, with comfy beds and spotlessly clean. Daniel and the team do a great job - thank you!

This hotel was a delight to find. comfortable welcoming owned & run by caring management. The building is very interesting as it once was a coaching inn rambling & uneven floors but bags of character the room we had was huge & was traditional with really interesting furniture the bed was excellent very clean & comfortable the bathroom was up to date & met all our needs The restaurant had a very straightforward & varied menu & along with a very substantial continental and well cooked breakfast. The Staff throughout the hotel were very pleasant & knowledgeable All in a really good hotel
