We were stranded in South Carolina when our Jeep broke an axel on the highway I-26 near Bowman, SC. Then after waiting for over 7 hours at the side of the road for AAA to let us know that they couldn't find a tow truck, and allowing us to find our own local tow truck to help us, we were rescued. The tow truck driver dropped my husband, my son, and I off at the Hampton Inn, 749 Citadel Road, South Carolina. There we had the pleasure of meeting the BEST group of hotel workers we have EVER met. They were SO helpful and caring and just a pure delight to be around. All of the workers there seemed to get along with each other and truly go out of their way to make each of their guests welcome and to meet their needs. Check In and Check Out were a real breeze and there weren't ANY problems. We were treated like Royalty. Everyone there was so very helpful and wonderful. The desk clerk helped us with our choice of rooms and even offered us bottled water, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. The tv in our room even welcomed us BY NAME!! The room was so very clean that we knew it wasn't just 'straightened well enough for the next guests', but was actually CLEANED. The housekeepers actually know what they are doing, do their job, and are the best at what they do. The rooms were spotless. The Hotel kitchen staff prepares the included, and most wonderful hot breakfasts that alone would help me to decide to stay at this hotel! They make sure that everything is clean and also exceptionally prepared. There are also bagged breakfasts ready to carry out for the guests that unfortunately aren't able to stay to taste the wonderful breakfast that has been expertly prepared. Their biscuits are out-of-this-world amazing! The kitchen staff is always helpful and keep all of their various breakfast foods filled and ready for all of their guests. Stale foods and empty dishes won't be found here as in some of the other hotel chains. I have NO idea how in the world the Hampton Inn and Suites at Orangeburg, SC was able to put together a staff of so many wonderful and truly caring employees at this one location, but they have succeeded in doing just that. Hampton Inn hit it out of the ball park with this crew! Since we are from Pennsylvania and were on our way to Florida when our vehicle broke down we were ever grateful to have found such a hotel and caring hotel employees who go out of their way to care for their guests. Although we would like to recognize EVERYONE who works in this hotel we unfortunately were unable to get everyone's name, (and please forgive us for missing anyone, and also possibly spelling some names incorrectly). We would like to thank WES who helped us tremendously by helping us to be able to find a rented vehicle so we could continue on to Florida. Without WES we might still be in South Carolina! We would also like to Thank VERONICA, and NIKKI at the front desk, who are very helpful, friendly and caring. and BECKY in the kitchen
