Positives/ pros: As one previous Courtyard review said, in all different ways, this hotel has great design and color balance. The suite that I shared with my friend’s family had an impressive large parlor room with a large wet bar countertop surface and cabinets below. I also liked the flow of walking straight into the small passage between the bathroom sink counter and closet from the parlor doorway, then toward the separate toilet and shower room in the back, behind the passage. The bedroom area was situated nicely and privately to the right of the parlor doorway behind the closet. All plumbing and electrical fixtures worked well (including both nice large flatscreen tvs), the furniture was intact and comfortable except for some of the wood furniture which had some wear damage on it. The lobby and pool area were very clean as both the pool and hot tub operated very well while retaining good or decent temperatures. Last, but not least, the staff was welcoming, friendly, accommodating, helpful, attentive, and communicative. The absolute negatives/ cons: The carpet(s) in both elevators were absolutely dirty across each surface. Just large black smeared stains across both surfaces. It didn’t look like they had been cleaned for a long time at all. They both should be replaced and then the new pieces should be cleaned more regularly. If you are a potential guest who is thinking about booking a suite at this hotel, and you are going to be the designated guest to sleep on the pullout sofa bed in the parlor, you need to be a heavy sleeper to do so because there is a lot of audible noise and some light leaking in from the hallway through the gaps around the door and its peep hole. The ac unit (very close by the side of the sofa) and the mini fridge (sounding like the interior of an airplane) were so loud that I had to completely turn off the ac unit, unplug the mini fridge, and put the removed sofa cushions and pillows against the door to block out the light. It was a little too late to the point that I did not end up getting enough good sleep. Remember, it’s better for heavy sleepers to sleep in the parlor, not light ones like me. The very last issue is that there were small pieces of white paper like debris scattered throughout the guest room hallway. Last mixed issues: When I first arrived at the hotel about 30 minutes before the 3:00 pm check in time, I was notified that the room wasn’t ready and I had to wait for it until it was ready. When my friend’s family/ guests arrived a couple minutes after, I informed them about what was going on. A little later past the 3:00 pm check in time, We were informed that there was a shortage of housekeeping staff on duty as it was the case and effect for other hotels as well. It wasn’t something that I was too excited about, but being patient, I got through it by exploring the lobby, talking to my friend’s family, snacking on food and a drink from the Market, and briefly looking at my phone.
