Upon arrival at the Westgate in Park City, Utah, we were warmly welcomed by Gigi and Maria, who went above and beyond to upgrade us to a newly remodeled room. The room itself was tasteful, comfortable, and well-appointed, with cozy beds that made for a restful stay. The rest of the staff was phenomenal as well—helpful, friendly, and always ready to assist with any needs. Now for the downside: I headed down to the “Owners Lounge” to grab some coffee and donuts and ask a few questions, but was immediately approached by their sales team. It felt like they had watched Glengarry Glen Ross one too many times, as I was hit with high-pressure sales tactics, urging me to upgrade my timeshare right then and there, with the added threat that the offer wouldn’t be available later. The experience was overly aggressive and left me feeling uncomfortable, which soured what was otherwise a great stay. Overall, if you can avoid the sales pitch and get one of the upgraded premium rooms, the resort is very nice. Just be cautious of the sales team in the lounge!
