A real pub welcome, roaring fire and exceptional food. Thank you Mark, Jamie & Daz for making us feel like locals from the moment we set foot in the bar.... we'll definitely be returning soon for more beer, food, banter and laughter at this gem of a pub,

The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful , but facilities were run down and in need of a good clean. Bedding and towels grubby and stained. No internet access or use of a public phone . Room was spacious but very basic. Kettle, tea, coffee and a couple of biscuit packs.

We had phoned ahead to arrange to stay in our motorhome in the car park and were pre-warned in a very friendly way that it was fish Friday - fish & chips/ scampi & fries or a vegan option. When we arrived we called in for an afternoon drink to find, to my great delight, that this is a “proper pub”. Flagstone floors, character features, good ales, friendly landlady, landlord & staff and friendly locals. On our return later for food the fish & chips was excellent - lovely crisp thin batter on a large portion of fish. My scampi were good too. The pub was in full swing. Lots of friendly laughing joking chatty locals. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here.
