We stayed at Scorpios Hotel for 10 days at the start of July. Arrived at Preveza airport to 37c heat which was nice. About an hour’s coach trip to Scorpios Hotel. The hotel is situated about 1.5 km from Nidri centre, along what is the main coast road. However, it is not that busy, but care needs to be taken because pavements are either not very wide, non-existent or in the process of being constructed. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk this way to Nidri centre. Scorpios Hotel is situated on a STEEP hill. The walk up the track from the road to the entrance is quite steep. Once in the grounds there are a large number of steps to get you to the top where the reception and pool/bar area is. I’m a fit 61 year old, my wife is a fit 45 year old, and we found this hard work for the first few days. We eventually got used to it. However, in the extremely hot weather it was hard work. Scorpios is laid out almost in a ‘village’ style with apartments on different levels. Each apartment has a balcony area or small patio area. The reception, pool and bar/restaurant area are at the very top – guaranteed to make you sweat and pant! However, it is worth it. The views from the large bar area are excellent – a beautiful view of Nidri bay and the islands and a view to Nidri. What a place to sit and sup a large, chilled Mythos and enjoy the beauty of Greece; especially after walking up all those steps. Antonio and all the staff {sorry I can’t remember the name of his cousin and aunty} are extremely friendly and helpful – absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them. The food served {at night time} was excellent – proper top restaurant standard and cheaper. We ate there at least 3 times whilst watching the footy. They served the best chips on the island! The pool isn’t large but it’s plenty big enough and deep. Plenty of good quality sunbeds and no need to reserve early doors – at least not in my experience. There was a good cross section of nationalities there. Rooms – we had room 45 which was the furthest up from the road. A long haul but the view from the balcony was spectacular. It was also at the end of the building so no one walking past – very quiet and private. Room was large enough for 2 people but nowhere to put cases out of the way. Double bed was large to give plenty of room so it wasn’t too hot in the evening. We just slept with a sheet over us but there were blankets available if required. Large wardrobe with plenty of plastic hangers; 3 drawers in the wardrobe. Regular size fridge with ice compartment, which was needed to keep the beers, water, and coke chilled. There was a sink and small preparation area with enough cutlery and crockery for 2. 2 electric rings {we never used them}. Small table and large mirror in the room. Bathroom had the usual with a shower curtain and the shower had a ‘tray’ on the floor to help stop water going all over the floor. Aircon was free for us – I’m not sure If we paid for it wi
