Heidl Guest House Partner with Grampian Hotel

This B&B is not the same as the pictures on website as its been bought over there is no dinning room all the chairs are on top of each other and the room is full of laundry bags .thought it was closed. Down The rooms we're lovely and clean .but wasn't told when booked my toilet was in a different room next door. So just check when booking. Have to go next door to other hotel for breakfast .

Booked this guest house through ******* but never received confirmation by email or any other means. I therefore booked a different hotel stay. I got a call at 11.30pm on the night of my stay asking if I was using the room at this place. I explained my booking had never been confirmed by ******* or the guest house so I had arranged to stay at another hotel. Charged £100 for a room I did not use. Contacted both ******* (never heard back) and the guest house to try to get to the bottom of what happened. Guest house hung up on me after less than a minute’s conversation even though I was polite hence this review.

Accommodation was very good nice and clean could not really fault it would say a decaf coffee and some sweeteners on the host tray might help very friendly staff the owner also very friendly and helpful. 8 out of 10 The only thing that really let it down was the breakfast sausages undercook Black pudding was that hard you could have used it as a door stop scrambled eggs stogie and toast came about 15min before your breakfast thankfully that was ok 1 out of 10 I had food the night before and it was lovely

We stayed here from September 7 to 10 in room 2 (street side). Although the information in the room still mentions hosts Jackie and Mark, it is run by new owners. The Guest House is located close to the center of Perth. You have to eat breakfast in the Grampian hotel next door. For breakfast you must select your choice on a pre-printed form every day before 10:00 PM. Unless you want to eat the same breakfast every day. The beds are very uncomfortable. The mattress is also placed on wooden planks. The quality of the WiFi signal is very weak. The bathroom is spacious enough, but the entrance to the shower is not suitable for more sturdy people. When checking out we asked for the invoice. Even though we had paid with the MasterCard during check-in, we received an invoice stating that the entire amount for the 3 nights had not yet been paid. After our comment about this, the amount was manually changed to £0.00. We requested a correct invoice. The clerk said he could do this for the guests at the Grampian hotel, but didn't know how to do it for those at Heidl Guest House. We insisted and someone else was brought in. Finally after 45 minutes, we got our invoice. We cannot recommend this accommodation.

Room needed a good clean. Shower head actually black - unusable. Guests lounge had 1 broken dining room chair and 2 other dining room chairs. that was all. The only good thing was the bed linen was clean and the bed comfy. Had to have breakfast next door in the hotel. Not filled - hardly anything left although we were down at 9am. Ciost £100 for one night double room. Staff not helpful. Stairs from small flight to larger flight badly lit and my sister fell. When we complained about the shower head and asked to speak to the manager we got three different answers and eventually told to leave as the manager wasn't soming and they refused to phone him. Said to email him. Asked for email address and were refused. Not a good place to stay.

Quick solo family visit to Perth Heidl was in my view the best B&B in Perth with the MacKinnons owning it. Was always going to be hard act to follow, with their friendly manner & homely feel. Positives=still clean, quiet if you have back rooms 5, 7 or 8; location on York place Negatives=mattress in room5 gone, just awful, my back still feeling it!; breakfast now in Grampian next door as the Nepalese now run both Heidl & Grampian Breakfast was ok with fruit on offer as well as cooked.

One of the nicest guesthouses I've ever stayed in and I've stayed in many trying to go to all the racecourses in Great Britain Was greeted by Jackie who was so friendly and helpful She even took time to help suggesting and writing down many restraunts/ pubs where to eat in the evening The free parking was great The room was perfect absolutely spotless and nice and warm the location was perfect just a 5 min stroll to the centre of Perth... The breakfast included in the price was excellent plenty of choice of cerals , juice ,yoghurts , fruit and a really tasty hot fresh breakfast...if I visit again which I may in the future I wouldn't even bother looking for anywhere else as I don't think you could find any nicer than Heidi Guesthouse . Thank you.....

We had a delightful stay at this extremely friendly and well run guest house. We were late down from playing golf at Castle Stuart and the proprietor Jackie was there to greet us and show us where to park. The room was very comfortable with a lovely large bathroom. Everything was spotless and we had a very quiet room. Breakfast was completely delicious and served very promptly. My husband left his credit card in our room and Jackie contacted us immediately and sent it on to us in England. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Comfortable two night stay in a family room at the back. Very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed, and although our bathroom was across the hall, it was no problem. We actually appreciated the extra space, as the bedroom got rather cramped with 3 of us and our cases. There was a sink in the room too. Apart from tea, coffee and water, ear plugs were provided. The room was not noisy until early morning when the gulls started! However, the plugs helped. The room was hot with three of us, but we visited during a heatwave so that wasn’t strange - and there was a ventilator provided, as well as a heater for cold weather. Our host was very welcoming and went out of her way to suggest parking spots when the hotel parking was full. It’s not very big but apparently usually adequate. She also gave us a map with all the personally recommended restaurants. Breakfast had to be ordered in advance- nice choice of hot dishes, supplemented by buffet with fruit, yogurt, cereals etc.
