The Lodge at Perth Racecourse

Finding this hotel was a bit of a nightmare as sat nav took us to a road that was closed and the actual road to the hotel is a new carriageway not recognised but follow the signs for Perth Racecourse and you will find it. A nice man at Reception welcomed us and gave us a 15% discount voucher for a restaurant in Scone,which we used and it was lovely. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. TV worked but WiFi and 4G didn't so no internet access. To use the shower turn both the handle to hot and the dial as I struggled to get hot water.

A hidden gem. Lovely clean hotel with very comfy beds in a quiet location, at a great price. Breakfast was amazing and definitely worth trying. Staff were very friendly and Tracii exceptional. So friendly & informative, she had everyone chatting together in the bar on the night. Will definitely book again when next in the area.

In July 2024 I stayed there and I forgot my jacket and the staff promised to ship it back to me (I asked for the bill to pay the shipping cost). 8 weeks with +20 emails, chats, and calls from my side with no action from the hotel. After 8 weeks, I escalated it and the hotel staff promised to ship the jacket to me. I asked for the tracking number. 2 weeks later no news. When I follow up, they tell me that they shipped it to me 2 weeks ago, but no tracking number, nor proof of shipment nor even invoice related to any shipment have been provided. Obviously, I never got the jacket back. The hotel GM (Steven) said "sorry". Such an amazing response, plenty of accountability! The hotel parent company CEO (Brian), didn't even answer my emails. The only person empathetic and supporting me in the process was the old hotel GM (Bob). I am grateful to him and I am sad that he is not there anymore. I would never recommend this hotel. I have travelled the world and it's the first time I feel that frustrated and disappointed

I stayed in Room 3 early October. On arrival a bin had been kicked over and dirty nappies were strewn around outside. The room on initial inspection was nice. The USB outlets on the double wall plate do not work. The kettle continues to boil and only intermittently switches off when it reaches boil. The sound on the tv goes fuzzy when the volume is too high so obviously the speaker is on its way out. The tv doesn’t turn on or off with the remote control and you have to reach round the back. The shelf above the hanging rail was dusty and I had to take a towel over it to clean it. Bathroom. The shower trap was full of hair. The sink taps are under too much pressure and are extremely noisy when switched on. The towel rail is missing all the screw covers and is extremely rusty. The breakfast was nice although there were no tongs and people were touching the meat and cheese in the continental selection with their bare hands, separating the two, likewise the bread is open to cross contamination risk as people are openly handing and replacing the bread. There is no side plates on offer for your toast. Teapots would be good as the tea cups are so small and you have to keep going up and down to refill the tiny cups, I took to using a takeaway cup rather than bother up and down continually. The staff were friendly. I would have eaten in the hotel at night but they were not offering the service. The Wi-Fi worked without problem. I would stay again out of sheer convenience but think once the new road is in the noise from the road will be a factor as it runs right passed the hotel.

Clean comfortable room and quiet apart from the odd door being slammed shut, no lift. The hotel is very clean and the staff very pleasant and helpful. Continental breakfast was lovely. Would stay againClose to the racecourse and a short distance to see the sights in Perth. Plenty of car parking spaces.

Nice setting and pleasant modern building - the rooms are comfortable and there's free parking. Catering was a bit haphazard though. We had dinner on our first night - a fairly basic bar menu but food was OK. Wine was a problem - no wine list, but we have red, white and rose - well except that there's no red! A continental breakfast next day included ham and cheese - except that they ran out of ham! Just seemed a bit disorganised - shame as the staff were lovely.

Might be a lovely hotel if they had enough staff. Arrived a 5pm to be told the restaurant was closed but we could travel into Scone to get a meal. This is not what we wanted after a very busy day. Went out for something to eat and came back for a quiet drink. No alcohol free options available and the guy behind the bar didn't seem to understand what my husband was asking for offering him a choice of vodkas. I had a glass of wine and we went outside to drink, having to first clear a table as looked like no one had cleared for hours. Sitting having a drink and the barman then arrives and proceeds to sit and drink a coffee ignoring the cluttered tables. In the morning came down for breakfast. No welcome, no staff fend for yourself. Percolated coffee not on, had to make your coffee from sachets in a cardboard cup as no proper cups. No plates for toast, my husband then went into the kitchen, no one around but found plates and took them out. Looked around for the cooked breakfast menu, nothing. Eventually the receptionist came through to tidy some tables and we asked about the cooked breakfast, told as there were no kitchen facilities it was only continental today. Room was ok but needs a few things fixed. there was a broken catch on the window. Bathrooms at best being given a quick clean daily but nowhere near through enough, dust etc in all the corners. Toilet seat was loose and wouldn't close properly. TV appeared to only have BBC channels so very limited viewing options All in all you would be better to pay a tiny bit more and get a better grade of hotel. This nothing near a three star.

Hi we booked back in February for sunday21st July for 80s rewind they cancalled accommodation Thursday 18th July I have sent 2 emails and no one has answered them a terrible experience and added extreme stress of trying to get a hotel last minute for 3

Postive - the bed was comfortable. Negatives - we booked a cot and a Z bed. Neither were in the rooms when we arrived, a Z bed would not have fitted in the room we had and I had to show the member of staff how to put the cot up in the other room. They couldnt find the cot base so provided a duvet for the base - not safe. They did find the base later on in the evening after we requested that they look again for it. The bathroom needed some maintenance, sealant needs replacing, walls half painted. Shower head needs descaling and cleaning, do they do any legionella risk assessments? Hairs on the floor and the toilet in one of our rooms was not clean. Tea tray not setup properly. The staff did apologise, they were quite young and obviously very short staffed. No senior manager or owner on duty to guide the staff. The police arrived at 4.30am and checked the building - not sure why. I am hoping that there was an actual night manager in the building at that time. We had pre paid, didnt bother with breakfast, thank goodness, juice was in little cartons. as we left I heard a duty manager say they couldnt print off bills as the computer wasnt linked to the printer. This place could be very good but they need decent management to lead the staff.
