Metro Hotel

The service here exceeds expectations! I only stayed for the night but Ally ensured my checking experience would compensate for not being able to enjoy the unique experience that comes with a stay here! The theme and originality is beautiful! And definitely baby friendly! ( P.S. traffic to Sonoma Raceway on NASCAR morning from here was nonexistent. I loved it! If you ever plan to go to an event there, I’d definitely recommend staying here the night before. The traffic is insane, but only from one side. Choose the right one. )

Love this charming hotel! This time we stayed in one of the Airstreams and highly recommend it. It was worth the stay just to see the awesome Halloween decorations in the hotel Cafe and lobby. You can't beat the charm, uniqueness, location, and price!

As a business traveler I spend a lot of time in cookie cutter motels and hotels. I was surprised, delighted and pampered in the unique slice of a European Inn. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The Cafe downstairs was excellent with real coffee and the service could not have been better. Best of all we went there because the rates were the best in town! Little did we know when we pulled up in front what a great experience we would have.

Staying at the Metro was a wonderful experience! Each room is thoughtfully appointed and uniquely beautiful, and the eclectic art that adorns the entirety of the building is amazing to view and enjoy. They even have bicycles you can use to ride downtown just a few blocks away. . The coffee and crêpes in the morning were scrumptious and a great way to round out our stay. I highly recommend the Metro to any and all travelers passing through Petaluma!

I just returned from three nights at the Metro, a strange little French hotel in the middle of an all American California town. I had forgotten the door code which was emailed to me, so I had to phone the owner from the front step. He immediately let me in, told me the new code, and escorted me to my room on the 2nd floor. He recommended the Thai restaurant on the property which I enjoyed. I think the whole reason this part of California exists is for the enjoyment of food and wine. The room was brightly painted and very European. I felt like I was in a John Irving novel, but it was clean and larger than the room I had just left in San Francisco. I set up my laptop on a little table beneath a skylight and connected to the wireless. It wasn't for another hour that I realized there were no windows in the room. Strange, I thought, but the skylight did the trick and I had an even greater sense of privacy. The bed was fluffy and "pillowy" and very comfy. In the morning, the coffee was great (and some pastries), but it didn't come out till 7:30 which means I had to take a 2 minute drive to the 24 hour 7-11 down the block for my 6 a.m. fix. I wanted to visit the coast to see the wild Pacific I had heard about all my life and the owner suggested the Point Reyes Lighthouse, about an hour and a half away. Wonderful! Almost as beautiful as the west coast of Wales, almost. It was windy and gorgeous. Yeah, I'd stay again.

The Metro Hotel and Cafe may be my favorite hotel that I have ever stayed in! It is tastefully decorated to well-replicate an eclectic parisian boutique hotel. The staff was warm and extremely helpful. The bed was indeed comfortable, and the pastries and pour-over coffee in the morning were exquisite. Though we did not have the chance to stay in the Airstream campers, I suspect that this, too, would have been an absolutely wonderful time. Though we went as a couple, families occupied many of the rooms around us, and seemed quite content. I would certainly recommend this, as well as a trip to the Lagunitas Brewery, to anyone visiting the area.

I was on a road trip from Seattle to San Diego over 3 weeks with a new hotel most days. I have to say this hotel, and indeed Petaluma, were the unexpected joys of the holiday. I needed somewhere to stop that night and Petaluma was in the right place but I didn't expect such brilliant accommodation. The place has been beautifully made out in bold primary colours with a serious Parisian theme. My room was very comfortable with lovely old style bathroom fittings. Its was a short walk into town where I had great food and drink. The staff are friendly and helpful in this bohemian establishment and I have honestly never seen anything like it. It has to be seen to be believed. There are photos on line. Stay there, Its an absolute joy.

We love the Metro Hotel and Cafe. We have already booked our next visit. We stayed in Anna's Nest. It was a fun place to be. If you love antiques and the eclectic style, this place is for you. I felt I saw something different each time I looked around. And did I mention the friendly staff. We also enjoyed exploring the town of Petaluma. Very friendly. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel.

Charming place. Quiet and clean. Service is friendly and attentive. But they leave you alone, too. Walking distance to just about everything in downtown Petaluma. Things to note...no gym, good breakfast, but it is a heavier continental type. They have bikes to use and nice lounging areas. Perfect for a couples getaway even though I was there for business.
