Lakeside Lodge

We hired the green room for my 70th birthday celebration the whole experience was 10 out 10 for the whole night. The bar staff were excellent and the buffet was amazing possibly the best buffet I have ever seen or had. It was for 38 people but so much was over we only really needed half the quantity as so much was left over even after we had taken a lot home with us. We stayed in a lodge which was so big and plenty of space. Would highly recommend this place.

Stayed for 2 nights with 3 rounds of golf. Food and accommodation was very good The golf course was in a decent condition and interesting enough to play. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly in the case of forwarding on a jacket that I had left in my room. I would definitely consider another golf weekend at Lakeside Lodge and recommend it.

Third and probably last visit. Previous reviews I have written have been good. Sadly, not this one. On arrival, I left my car at the Lodge I was staying in and politely told reception. I was told to move in a fairly unfriendly manner. Stayed in a ground floor room, and all you hear at night is creaking floor boards as people move around in the rooms above. The shower looks good and good when you have hot water. The shower itself has no shelf for soap or soap bottles. Hot water was a big issue. Stayed for 2 nights and only had hot water on the first night. We told reception of the problem, it was a Saturday morning. They extended our room passes so we could shower after golf. This was a waste of time as there was still no hot water, and reception don't work on a Saturday afternoon to discuss this issue. As for WIFI or a simple phone signal, the lodges don't have either.

From the moment we began our booking everyone has been very helpful . Eighteen of us stayed for 2 nights . The Office staff are great, we had golfers and non golfers in the group all looked after very well . We stayed in the Yew Lodge and also took up some of the Fairway rooms . The beds are soooo comfy The food was excellent , absolutely delicious . All the waiting staff are excellent making sure we had everything we needed . Thank you Sarah is the golden girl always making us welcome We played bowls and again we were looked after by the staff to make sure everything went smoothly On top of this the golf course was great Thank you to everyone at Pidley who make our stay sooooo good

Went for a family meal to Lakeside Lodge last night. Unfortunately for us there were several large groups of very loud men which made the place very noisy and difficult to hear what people with us were saying. However the food and service were good and I am sure on a different night the atmosphere would have been very pleasant too.

Having played plenty of golf courses around the country I have to say these have to be the WORST FAIRWAYS I’ve ever been on,the fairways are the same grass Length as the outside rough,hit your ball clean down the middle of the fairway but you can’t find your ball due to the ridiculous length of grass on the fairways,shocking considering they are charging £42 per round,the green keepers (if any) need to step up there game if they expect any repeat visitors,we won’t be returning anytime soon it was awful………
