I will say that my experience was probably more negative than most just bc I had one of the most undesirable rooms at the property. I was in the “annex” (aka motel part behind the main house) on the ground floor, next to the ice machine and the staircase. Also was a handicap room with a shower that flooded the bathroom if you used it. I got very little sleep because everyone on the second floor who came in after 10 or 11 had to walk by my room and open the door to the interior staircase and go up it. Most people were talking, and if they’re literally 5 feet from my bed I am going to wake up. There were also quite a few people with boats who got up early (4-5::30 am was the busiest time) to go fishing. This meant coming down the stairs, walking by my room window while talking, hitching their boats to their trucks right outside the door, etc. No one was overly loud but it’s hard to sleep through 10 or so people coming and going, hitching up boats, calling back and forth to organize their parties, getting coolers full of ice, etc. All within 5 feet of my window which is about 2 feet from the bed. Some people even knocked on my door at 5:15 am, thinking I was one of their fishing team. Add in that the room’s alarm clock went off at midnight my first night (I didn’t set it) and that the bed is older and sags and you get why I wasn’t a huge fan. The room was decently clean and I didn’t mind the older fixtures. The Wifi does go in and out—I was trying to work and got the message that the network was down every 2-3 minutes for a few seconds, then it would go back to being one bar (or poor to fair according to my computer’s network connection diagnosis). Hotel front desk people were very pleasant and I hope that other guests had a better time. Feel like the room is worth about $40-$60 a night given the older furniture, fixtures, decoration, etc. not the $90-$140 they charge. I booked online through a third party and wasn’t aware of the main building (which is more like a hotel) vs annex issue. Don’t think I will return but advise people to stay out of the annex if they want to try the place.
