Baymont by Wyndham Portage Indiana Dunes

I was supposed to stay here for four nights but couldn’t even stay more than an hour. AC was moldy, shower mate was dark brown, smelled like cat piss. Very disappointed and disgusted. Wish I could have gotten a refund since I didn’t even stay there. Went to comfort Inn instead.

Hotel room was disgusting, sheets had stains bathroom not clean… front desk staff was VERY nice though. We ended up leaving and getting a refund

First room stunk like cigarettes…whole place should be torn down…filthy and very old and not maintained

Great place to stay and close to the beach. I really appreciated that check-out was at noon instead of 11am. It was a blessing for those of us who tend to get places later than we'd like to. Would absolutely stay here again, lovely air conditioned room.

Let me start by saying every staff member I met during my week stay were all wonderful. However, this hotel has a nerve charging a "$45.95 per day resort fee"! This is a glorified motel that smells like feet, dogs, a high-school loccer room and old cigarettes combined, no matter where you turn! The carpet in the room 212 was literally sticky! I stayed for a week, and the room wasn't cleaned once!!! Now let's turn our attention to the, "Green Bathtub", I mean the pool. Can we say fisheye lenses Batman? NO! JUST! NO! Stay if you have no other choice.

The overall condition and upkeep of the hotel was terrible. There are cracks in the walls, you can tell where places were just painted or patched over, the keycard slot was finicky where it took 3-4 swipes for it to turn green then you would have to try to get the door open 3-5 times before you could FINALLY get inside. Thr room smelled musty, there were 2 loose tiles in the bathroom, the grout of the tiles was nearly nonexistent or disgustingly dirty, there was mold in the sink, the linen of the beds were stained and torn, there was not a true duvet just 3 blankets put together, the pillows had some kind of hair that looked like animal fur all over it, the room was dusty, the air conditioner looked gross and dusty where the air was making my friend and I cough through the night, the room was humid, and when you would shower and have some condensation in the bathroom you could see the dust accumulate and stick onto the condensation on the sink counter. The only good things I can say about this hotel is that it is located in a great area and the breakfast selection was nice. Would I choose to stay here again? Probably not.

Was a bit run down. Came for breakfast when it opened, the warmers had just been turned on so everything was cold.

Colletta the front desk person was extremely helpful. Problem there was a sorm and power was out for the night. No hot water etc.

The hotel was not clean. The floors were absolutely filthy, my room smelled like dogs, and one of the beds had dirty sheets. The shower was also disgusting. I spoke with the staff and requested a refund because I did not feel the room was clean enough for myself and my two toddlers. Instead of offering another room or a refund, I was told they could spray the floors and put baking soda down. I explained that this would not solve the problem. They refused to refund me or provide any other accommodation. Overall, I was very disappointed with both the cleanliness of the hotel and the lack of customer service. 0/10. I do not recommend this hotel.
