We were one of three couples that rented Penthouse 4 in Pinnacle 180 together for a ten day holiday - and were all disappointed at what we found. Although its location is excellent - right in the heart of the Romantic Zone at the top of the funicular, it did not measure up to the "5-Star" quality it claims. Although the valet service and the housekeeping services were excellent - the rooms were meticulously cleaned - other aspects of the hotel failed. Although the rooms were clean, the upholstery was faded and badly in need of being refreshed. The hotel elevators were being "maintained" and out of service almost every day we were there. Although one was usually in service at a time, it still resulted in needless delays. Couldn't this work have been done off season or when the hotel was less busy? The reception staff was unfriendly and never helpful. They were routinely a barrier to having a good experience and never a help in solving a problem. While this might have been fine for a less expensive place, it was unacceptable for a property such as this claims to be. The gym, while beautiful in its photos, consisted of dated and rusted equipment. Our group has traveled together around the world and are accustomed to paying for quality. In short, we paid for a "5-star" quality place, and got a ""2-star" experience. We won't return.
