I have read already some articles about the property and the owner and was looking forward to visiting. The property is far away from the hustle and bustle of PVR, it is in fact almost a three hours drive, but worth the long trip. The area is relatively unspoiled and there are only few hotels and other developments. The property is huge (800 hectares) and extremely beautiful. You can take a tour in a small Jeep to see and enjoy the beauty. There are four beaches, all are very secluded. As I love to make long beach walks, they are fantastic. Only downside is that the sea is relatively rough so only good swimmers are encouraged to go into the ocean. One beach which is small has a more quite ocean, good for swimming also for beginners. What I loved is to take a bike tour in the property. It is really amazing to enjoy the nature without other people. And this is the biggest luxury here. The hotel is spread out and has only 16 rooms, so it won’t get crowded, and this is a great fact. We were most of the time on our own, enjoying the peace. The rooms are a bit dated, I recommend not to book the standard rooms as they are old. The beachfront rooms are nicely located, you’ll sit on your terrace and enjoy the ocean. The rooms are big. However some things are dated, like the water in the sink and bathtub takes very long to run away. The food is very good. I liked the fresh fish, be it as ceviche be it grilled snapper etc. the chef is really good and he also made some special dishes for me. I also liked their desserts, in particular the tres leches cake. They offer massages. Cassandra is one of the best massage therapists I know, really great job done. And their tennis pro, Leo, was excellent so we booked him every day. A few things to note: - service is very limited and sometimes almost not existent. For example the staff never come to the pool and ask if you want something to drink. For my tennis lesson, they did not automatically provide water and I had to ask for it. For the massage, they also do not provide water. I asked if someone could help me to move the heavy umbrellas at the pool, unfortunately never ever did someone appear. Turndown service was done most of the time poorly. - Management: very important and linked to the above, the manager on duty never came and asked how we were doing and if he could do something for us. This is a pity, as most small luxury hotels provide such personal service. With this little effort, this could be the perfect place. Most probably this is due to the fact that the owner was not there during our stay (I heard that service is much better when she is around). - Rooms: as written above, the rooms are a bit dated and need some update. They are relatively simple with limited luxury. For me this was not an issue, but some people might find it too simple. So be aware the luxury here lies with the beautiful property and not with the service. Despite these downsides I really appreciate the time spent there. The lu
