Dar Kika Salam by DKS, another good find hidden gem!! We were welcomed with open arms by Hicham who would not let us lift a finger… Hicham carried all our items from the beginning to the end of our stay. He advised us where to walk, eat, and tour. The riad and room were exactly as advertised… footsteps to all Madina dining and shopping. The rooftop breakfast was simple and super cute all again served by the amazing Hicham!!! This is a gorgeous beautifully decorated riad! As long as you have done your research to understand riad style locations… you will enjoy Dar Kika Salam by DKS!

If you are looking real experience of a RIAD, than go to DKS in Rabat. The host and service is great as well as location (especially because it is only 2 minutes easy walk from the place taxi leaves you and it is in medina). We enjoyed the atmosphere, sleeping, kindness, breakfast at the terrace. Excellent expirience!

I stayed here on my own and was delighted by the care shown by the host, the friendliness and the service. nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. The breakfast and dining room has lovely views across the city and the roof garden is nicely set up for sunbathing and relaxing. It's just inside the Medina so easy to walk out to the sea and the city walls or along to the market. I was very taken with Rabat generally-everyone was friendly and helpful. I thought the Riad was great and excellent value and would definitely go again

Dar Kika Salam By DKS was absolutely a cultural gem and a fantastic find. Many reviews referred to it as a hotel, but technically it was a guest house. We had reserved the largest available room which overlooked the street in front. It was spacious, light, top-to-bottom fitted with beautiful tiles and wonderful. Although the bathroom was quite small, it sufficed and was conveniently located outside the actual bedroom and off our vestibule entrance. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts which were made to order and served in the upper rooftop dining room/areas. It was not your typical breakfast buffet with plastic utensils, disposible paper plates or cups...tea service anyone? We also had an incredible dinner experience which we have already reviewed separately. Since Dar Kika Salam was originally an elegant home for a family of three generations and converted into a guesthouse, there were clearly some inconveniences. It was definitely not a hotel, but we were completely prepared and totally loved the experience. The guest house was located directly across a street from the Andalusian Gardens, ancient Citadel, Rabat Old Town and an easy walk to the Atlantic Ocean. The staff, especially Abdel, was really great and extremely helpful with recommendations, reservations and directions. One suggestion --- we needed better directions to the guest house. Our taxi driver from the airport went around the general locale several times, got frustrated and finally just dropped us off. Of course the difficulty communicating in English with him did not help. Locals were extremely friendly and helpful, and one young man actually ended up leading us through a side street to the guest house door. It was not a problem returning to the airport by taxi which Abdel had to call.

Perfect location very close to the entrance of the Medina and the Kasbah, Beautiful rooms and public areas.. Tasteful local Breakfast served on the rooftop with stunning views of the awsome city of Rabat We could only stay for one night so we'll definitely be back on next occasion!! Thank you to to the whole team especially Hisham who made us feel very very welcome and at home!

First the positives: this Dar is in an excellent location very close to the Kasbah and inside the Medina in a very quiet area with great views of the river and even part of the kasbah. The place is clean and we had a great service when we dine there on our first night ( the young gentleman that serves you dinner was a fantastic and 5 star server). Food was pretty good ( breakfast and one dinner) Now to the not so good feedback ( and I always try to be balanced and not complain about small things): there does not seem to be any real service in this place, nobody told us breakfast hours and even the dinner booking looked like it happened by chance ( I believe they might be changing management based on other much better reviews?). Upon checkin our room did not have towels or hand soap, I had to go and tell them ( ok, it might happen), one of the night table lamps was not working and neither the hair dryer ( I advised them and they fixed the lamp, but the hair dryer never came back); the shower head was leaking and the hose was too short to be placed on the wall support so we had to hold it while having a shower; the bathtub was painted and part of the paint is peeling. This is not a deluxe guest house as they advertise. They also indicate in their ads in booking sites that they provide robes ( that is not true). Last, we asked for a car to drive us to the train station and we were told that they will accompany us to get a taxi; the next morning, they left us at the door telling us to walk and stop a taxi ( many taxis were not interested in driving us as we had luggage, so we were concerned we will not arrive on time). When I look at the price, I paid 30 to 40 euros less than real luxurious riads in Marrakech and Fes, so this place was very disappointing.

I have stayed many places in Rabat and this riad is a jewel box, from every angle. A piece of history with blue and white zellij tile on every surface, immaculate whitewashed doors and ironwork, and a terrace from which you can see the medina and the river. Staying here is a piece of history, and a stone's throw from the marina and the Oudaya fort, but modern and updated in a way I've never seen, with crisp perfectly white sheets, individual air conditioners in every room, even an elevator. I came with my family for a week but came back after they left for a few days here finishing up work. Now this will be my go-to and my #1 recommendation!

Could definitely recommend this hotel. The stuff gave us a warm welcome, offered some tea and snacks upon arrival and we have even received a better room than the one we have originally booked. The room was well cleaned and had everything we could need. The breakfast was just amazing with an even more amazing view to Rabat. The interior was really beautiful and cozy. The location was also good.

From the moment we arrived we were met by attentive and friendly staff who accommodated all our needs. The Riad is in a perfect location, 5 mins to the kasbah and there are plenty of small shops nearby too. The property itself is stunning, very picturesque and the highlight has to be the rooftop terrace where you are greeted with spectacular views. Great for sunrise/sunset and to have breakfast in the morning. The rooms were comfortable, especially the bed - so soft and easily some of the best night sleeps I’ve had in a while. You won’t regret staying here.
