The cleaning staff and rooms were good but that's where the good stops. When we got in the 1st day they told us we would have to stay in a room with a broken lock. Meaning, we couldn't get our own card access bc the electronics were broken. So we would have to ask the front desk to let us in every time we needed back in our room. They told us they had zero other rooms. This was before I found out they also owned the hotel next door (same type and price bracket) which meant instead of putting a laying guest through that, they could have simply checked us into a functioning room right next door but they didn't offer any resolve. So we delt with that and luckily by that night, they got us into a cancelation room. Back track just a bit, after we checked in, we had to wait in the lobby for almost an hour waiting for some guy in pj's to bring the hotel keys so they could even get us into that room. So we finally get into a working room and the rest of the night goes fine. The next morning we realize we need to stay another night due to weather. We go to get breakfast and they have no working microwave (the manager blamed a guest for shorting out the outlet although how would a guest know that by using the microwave and waffle maker at the same time would do that... sounded more like a function issue that was never properly dealt with by management) so I go to use their hot water carafe for my oatmeal, pour some in and realize it's barely warm and now I have no microwave to finish cooking the oats. I asked the manager for more hot water and he told me they only fill it up once a day in the morning for breakfast. So apparently, every guest in the hotel has to share 1 carafe of water because hot water must be too hard to supply for this management. So I remembered we had a small drip coffee maker in the room which I go back to use bc I now want my morning tea. It was dirty and my husband had to clean it just to use it. Mind you, this is the kind of coffee maker that has no pot. You just put water in the top and put your cup under it. Should not be a big deal to keep clean for guests. Next, I needed to do some laundry and of course, their laundry equipment was broken and this was when I found out they owned the hotel next door. I was told I could walk next door and use that facility which I did. On top of all these things, not once did the manager (who we dealt with the majority of the time) or the obviously high staff member say something like, "sorry for the inconvenience " or "I'm sorry this isn't what was advertised when you booked the room but here's what I can do to remedy that issue..." instead the manager made excuses, blamed guests, and never once apologized. I travel across country frequently enough. I stay in 2 and 3 star hotels. I know what a cheap deal is supposed to look like and they couldn't even hit that mark. Oh, also, I have a pending $67 charged to my account that they can't seem to find a reason why. I'm still on the road but I'll be calling my bank to make sure that doesn't go through. Terrible service, lazy management, and sketchy. Lastly, I stayed in this exact hotel a few years back and it was wonderful. Management makes a huge difference.
