I was so looking forward to staying here for 2 nights before our cruise. The hotel is stunning and the room amazing. Breakfast was ok, continental style, not a massive choice, but suitable. Unfortunately we had some issues that negatively affected our stay. I had booked wine and nibbles to be available in our room on arrival (as a surprise). We were not arriving until late in the evening and the hotel is then self check-in at that time, with no staff present. When we arrived, we had nibbles and 2 wine glasses in our room, but no actual wine. The next day, the reception staff stated, that they prefer to put the wine in the room when we arrive to ensure it is cold. However, they knew we were a late self check in and no one was going to be present anyway. I was just expecting the wine in a ice bucket or even put into the fridge in the room. Also, our room had no hot water to the shower. I made the reception staff aware the next morning and was told they were going to look at it. However, this wasn't addressed and when we had a shower later that evening, the water was still cold, and again there were no staff present at the hotel. When checking out, I informed the different reception staff that water have had no hot water for our 2 nights stay. She was unaware of this and the fact it had been reported the day before and nothing done. No discount was offered and only a lake warm apology. The hotel looks great, but having no hot water for 2 days and having to shower in cold water wasn't the best, and the issue not being addressed by staff have led to my 3 star rating :-(
