fantastic value for a solo travel on a budget. Beds are clean and comfortable. There's locker to store items. Bathrooms are outside and is very great in terms of privacy.

Staff were really nice and helpful and the room was pretty. Really nice for the price!

It’s a nice place I live in room with 8beds There’s a kitchen with kitchen implements we can use There’s a hair dryer in the washing room And there’re lockers in the room but no hangers Cross Street u can see the sea Walk 3mins there is a market (not expensive) Maybe around 10 mins u can see the church It’s a good experience

Fellow guests could keep washrooms clean otherwise it was amazing especially the interior and aesthetic loved it

I‘ll recommend to choose a lower bunk when you are going to stay in a 6-beds-room, because there is no private curtains in upper bunks. What’s more, you must spend about 6 euros to rent a towel if you don’t bring one. It’s a little noisy in night especially for people who must go sleep and get up early to attend a travel tour. But you can always get ear plugs from the friendly stuff for free.

A recommendable place for sure to stay :). Close walking from bus stops, in front of places where to eat fast food and also the sea. The dorm was fine and good beds, without curtains. The kitchen was prepared with many useful cooking tools. Nice decoration, nice staff helpful and able to speak good English, they are prepared to receive tourism with maps. This is not in hands of the hostel but would be nice if they can do something: there are couple of guest so stinky, one close to my bed was sooo smelly, I was capable to recognize when he was not covered with the blanket, so disgusting, also the house keeping is nice to clean, but there is to many guest, the trash cans are so full and people do not wash their dishes.

Comfortable beds, great location, kind staff, no towels, good kitchen and bathrooms. Good price overall.

Located close to bus stop 12 if you wanna save from day tours pick up. Kitchen and common area is spacious, a lot of private bathrooms available, bed is ok with curtain and socket next to bed.

Very nice location and very cheap. Good service from staff. Just not the cleanest place.

Reception is on the 3rd floor, with no elevator, so we definitely need to carry your heavy luggage up to the 3rd floor, and if you are unlucky, you may be assigned to 4th floor rooms. Construction is going on, and my 1st day had no water supply and no heater for 2 nights. Short walk to BONUS grocery place, affordable price. Most day tours can pick up at this location, but big buses may not be able to drop off directly in front due to construction. The kitchen is good.

Cons: 1. This building is a former confectionery factory. You feel like the horror movie Saw 11, only in reality. Everywhere there are portraits of long-dead people, like in a cemetery. They are looking at you from everywhere. 2. Old, shabby furniture with elements of attributes of a touring circus. 3. Everything needs renovation. 4. The hairdryer doesn't work. 5. Paid towel 7 €. 6. There are no partitions in the shower room and you wash in groups of 5 people, just like in a public bathhouse. 7. Dirty. 8. There are a lot of people and they snore loudly around the clock, cough, talk, rustle bags and bags, slam doors, leave and come, beds constantly creak. 9. The feeling that you are in hell. It's impossible to sleep. 10. There is a charge for a locker with a lock. 11. There is no shampoo or shower gel. 12. The toilets are dirty. 13. You clean up your laundry. PROS: 1. Hostel was in a good location, close to the centre of Reykjavík. The staff weren’t the friendliest upon arrival, and didn’t explain anything about the hostel, as was expected. The hostel wasn’t the cleanest either unfortunately, with the showers being quite unpleasant, though adequate. All in all I would recommend this location due to the price and location.
