Fairfield Inn & Suites Wheeling-St. Clairsville, Oh

They have the most comfortable bed I’ve ever experienced. I stay when I am in the St Clairsville area. Some rooms are great while others seem old and damaged. Sometimes there is cigarette smell. Always quiet rooms. One housekeeper seems a little creepy with the tattoos all over her and she gets a weird look on her face that makes me uncomfortable. The man at the front desk is always welcoming and accommodating. All other visitors are always nice.

Poor service and housekeeping. Stayed 5 days. On day 3, after no housekeeping whatsoever, I asked for room to be attended. They never did. Even after asking multiple times and leaving at the times they said it would be done, for a total of 3 times in one day. Didn’t have any clean towels when asked. Finally contacted management. Came back after being assured the problem would be taken care of, and being out all day, to one made bed and dirty towels taken out, but trash cans still full, one unmade bed, and no clean towels. I have never had such poor service, especially after asking for housekeeping or talking to management about the issues. There’s a lot of hotels to choose from. I would never pick this one again.

Hair in tub when we arrived. Door to bathroom would not close completely. All metal surfaces in bathroom were rusted. Lock on room door jammed. Breakfast was skimpy. Generally needing a deep clean. People working were nice. Did not have rooms with walk in shower. The bath tub Han no grab bars.

Very nice king suite. Very clean. I didn’t like that it was located near a storage room. I constantly heard the door slamming. Breakfast was mediocre but okay. The indoor pool was dry and looked as though it had been out of order for quite some time.

I have been traveling to St. Clairsville weekly for almost 2 years and had stayed at every hotel in town before choosing Fairfield to be my go-to over a year ago. I look forward to staying every week and have never had an unpleasant encounter/incident. The entire staff has been consistently attentive and friendly (even through covid restrictions) and everything is clean and up to date. Last night went I opened the door to my room it smelled the way linens do when they have dried outside on the clothesline, and I was again reminded why I choose to stay here. Jacob is the best and is one of the most helpful and considerate people I have ever met.

Hotel was a quick stop. We should have done more research. Was the lowest rated and most expensive in the area. Two stars for the friendly staff and it seemed like a safe location and amenities nearby (mall, restaurants, arcade and movie theater). Hotel sheets and towels were clean, but room had not been vacuumed and bathroom floor was visibly dirty. TV didn’t work and lights were dim - bathroom light flickered.

My room was comfortable and spacious, providing a good night's sleep. Having several restaurants within walking distance was a real plus for me. I enjoyed the complimentary hot breakfast the next morning.
