Stayed here for three nights, checkin was disappointing. The guy on reception, not too sure how/why he’s in the hospitality game. Miserable as hell, no welcome/hello, no enthusiasm or branding. No acknowledgment of status, apart from “do you want points or an amenity”, no explanation of the hotel or facilities, very poor. Bed and room was comfortable, the linen is crisp and fresh. The room is clean albeit extremely dated. Dated furniture, paper peeling off the walls and the aircon unit is like something from the 70’s and sounds like a tractor. No chance of sleeping with that on. The room has a large bathroom with a shower over the bath. The towels were fresh and fluffy and the shower curtain clean. Dove products were supplied. Overall , It really looks and feels like an old motel. The decoration, reception area and dark paintwork and furniture. The breakfast is typical HIE and starts the day well, plenty of produce and reasonable choice. For $200+ a night it was a low key experience. It’s the worst HIE we have stayed in so far and would benefit from a full refurb.
