Aito Igloo & Spa Resort

Great resort with lots of potential. The reindeers are super cute and friendly, nature is amazing, there are nice options to take a walk (even on the frozen lake), the lunch hut is stunning with the inner fireplace. The spa area is also very nice. However, we faced quite some “new hotel” issues, I hope that they will work on them: 1. The staff at the reception was not sure about the opening hours of the restaurants or the spa and they were also not sure how many times can we use the spa area. We stayed in an igloo and they wanted to charge us for the spa usage on the last day, however, luckily a supervisor clarified the situation and let us know that we can use the spa on our last day. Training of the front desk staff would definitely help to minimalize inconveniences. 2. The Bluetooth connection was not working in the igloo, the front desk staff offered an option to switch to another igloo (once they check availability and Bluetooth connectivity), however they never got back to us. We were waiting for more then an hour and then asked them on WhatsApp if moving is going to happen; only then they informed us that we can’t move to another igloo. Keeping the guests informed in time would create more pleasant experience. 3. The restaurants are quite good, and cozy, food was great, however the restaurant staff was very keen on closing the restaurant after the service hours. On our first morning one of the staff said at 9:43 am that they close in 2 mins so we better hurry up, however breakfast is open until 10 am. Same thing happened in the lunch area. Communicating with the guests could be improved to create a welcoming atmoshphere. 4. Overall, more information on DOs and DON’Ts would be appreciated. For example we asked one of the staff if we can drink the tap water in the igloo. In the beginning we were misinformed, but then luckily they let us know that the tap water in the igloo is not drinkable. In addition, more info on the property (where to walk, where not to walk) would have been appreciated. 5. Lastly, a common lounge area would have been great and would have made us stay longer. The lunch restaurant could be a great place to be used as a common area, however it was open only between 11 am and 3 pm. Keeping it open for longer could be a thing to consider.

Definitely we don’t receive what we paid for, they pick up from our other hotel but drop off at the airport leaving us waiting there without any communication or information from the hotel staff…! The use of the amenities (pool, sauna, jacuzzi) it’s limited and even though kids are not allowed when we were use it the excess of noisy from other people was not address by the hotel staff The room is very small and they don’t offer any help to understand how all the switches works within the room! Also we had the opportunity to see northern lights but there were a lot of lights turn on in the middle of the night, it will be amazing if they turn off all the lights in the hotel when there are northern lights…

We paid a 5* price and expected 5* service. By that I mean attention to details, not just the obvious outward facing things. This is my perspective based on my expectations given the cost. Good: Very clean Picturesque setting Free airport transport Friendly and helpful desk staff and grounds crew. Patty, Andre and the other kids working the grounds and the restaurants. Bad: Room very small, no closets in the room. Mini fridge isn't cold and no way to adjust the temperature. Phone in the room didn't work. Breakfast foods were cold (eggs, bacon, pancakes) Not in heating pans, just sitting out. Ran out of certain foods, croissants, orange juice etc. Coffee maker in the room but the long coffee button didn't work and no milk or sugar. Dinner menu is small and the same every night. After a few nights, there's nothing new to choose from. Meal prices are absurd but you are isolated so there's not much you can do. Ugly: Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night two nights out of the five we stayed. Woke up everyone in the hotel. They said it was a defect in the system. No bottled flat water, encouraged to drink from the faucet! No kidding. Lunch has a single option: one soup, one meat and salad. If you don't like it or are allergic you're out of luck. You can only use the pools, saunas and jacuzzi a limited number of times depending on how many nights you stay.

Beautiful place to stay in winter. Amazing lake view and best for aurora viewing as well. Complementary pick up and drop off. Professional staff and hotel is quite techie. Recommend staying there for couple of days to make the best use of the amenities like sauna and spa

The place and breakfast were very nice But one of the main reasons I booked there was to experience the treehouse and the sky roof, and those lights weren’t working, I asked the staff but they didn’t fix it or offered another room which disappointed me. The time in spa is very short

Excelente opción. Escogí la habitación Aurora Nest; es muy bonita pequeña pero acogedora, tiene todo lo esencial. Tiene vista panorámica, en mi caso si me tocó ver auroras, pensé que no pero a las 3:00am el personal del hotel fue a avisarme que saliera. Tienes acceso a regadera dentro del spa, piscina y jacuzzi. Lo que me agrado es que ellos van por ti a Rovaniemi y d e igual forma te llevan del hotel a la ubicación que digas
