Enhance your stay in French wine country with a trip to Hotel de Pavie in the charming town of St. Emilion, just a short trip from Bordeaux. Years ago, my husband and I discovered this quaint town and have always included the Hotel de Pavie in our travel plans. The hotel offers a luxury stopover complete with excellent cuisine and an always welcoming staff. Our deluxe room came with a view of the beautiful town of St. Emilion, and we always enjoy a great glass of Bordeaux on the rooftop terrace at sunset. The restaurant La Table de Pavie should not be missed!

One of the top three hotel experiences in my 67 years of being alive! Estetique and perfection in every detail, wonderfully friendly and helpful staff (Thomas - you are just one of a kind), a relaxed atmosphere in the bar, og wonderful food and drinks. I will definitely come back with my wife to spend more nights at this “heaven o n earth”!

We had the privilege of staying in a Junior Suite, Syrah, at the Hotel de Pavie for 3 nights and it was by far the nicest, largest, and most elegant hotel room we've ever stayed in. We stopped in St-Emilion because we were en route from Carcassonne to Puy du Fou an hour south of Nantes, and it looked to be the halfway point so we could break up a 7 hour drive. We didn't know much about the city and found the hotel, and the Michelin-starred La Table de Pavie in the hotel, via Google search, so as soon as we saw the reviews, we hurriedly booked the room and changed our plans so we could experience the restaurant, since it's closed on both Sunday and Monday. We were so glad we made the decision! The Syrah room is gorgeous and huge, and since the hotel is built into the side of a hill, it is true that it takes 3 different elevators to get there from the lobby. The first and third elevators had stairs next to them so we really only ever took the second elevator, which didn't have stairs. From the room, we could exit directly into the city via the door next to the fitness room on the ground floor, and we could also reenter from here. Pros: 1. Everything about the room. The most delicious fresh-baked lemon madeleines from the hotel bakery awaited us in the room on arrival. As you can see from the pics, the room is spotlessly clean, and every part of the suite is huge. The shower is a walk-in circular shower. There are a multitude of windows with wooden shutters that the housekeepers opened and closed every day. There is nothing negative that I could possibly say about this suite. 2. Everything about the service. Everyone was friendly and smiling. There was nothing that they wouldn't do without a gracious smile. And interestingly it seems that most of the staff at this hotel, including in the restaurant, were foreign-born. As an example, front desk, sommeliere, and waiter at La Table de Pavie were Dutch, another server was from the Philippines, wait staff in the breakfast room were Irish and Latin American. Of course there were some French staff as well, but when we were there, they were outnumbered by foreign-born staff. We haven't seen this before in a hotel in France. 3. The breakfast. Continental breakfast was plentiful, far too many baked goods for 2 people. Everything fresh-baked on site. They offer to package up leftovers for you to take with you, no problem, which we did when we decided to have a picnic in the room one night. The coffee was delicious, and a carafe and teapot are left on the table so you don't have to keep asking for refills. We didn't opt for eggs/meat because the breads/pastries/viennoiseries were plenty. What makes this a 5 star hotel: Besides the elegance of the lobby and everything in the suite, it was the impeccable and thoughtful service. Our second visit to Hôtel de Pavie in Saint-Émilion has only deepened our appreciation for this remarkable place. Among the many hotels we are fortunate to visit, Hôtel de Pavie stands out as truly exceptional. Every member of the team is driven by a deep passion for impeccable service, and the hotel itself reflects the highest standards in both design and operation. The attention to detail is unparalleled, setting a level of excellence that few hotels in the world can match. Be warned: once you experience this level of care, other hotels may struggle to compare.

We had the most amazing stay at Hotel de Pave. The location is beyond perfect, the hotel, grounds and staff were a 10 out of 10. This is the best hotel in town and all of the amenities just make it that much more perfect.

Every detail was thought of for style and comfort. Views of the town and vineyards were spectacular, including the outdoor bar/lounge area - a great way to relax after a day of tourism with a glass of wine. The breakfasts were phenomenal serving all fresh and local ingredients and foods and the best pastries!! The staff were friendly, knowledgable and professional. The hotel was luxurious and tasteful without being overstated. We had a perfect stay!
