Homewood Suites by Hilton Minneapolis- St. Louis Park at West End

This hotel is seriously under-staffed so don't expect much from them. Hilton is apparently going cheap and cutting services. Our experience did not begin well. We picked up our rental car and the GPS was not working so I called the hotel for directions. The front desk staffer didn't know, and there was no one else there to ask. He said he didn''t have a car so he couldn't give directions. When we checked in, the staffer said nothikng about the every-other-day maid service, so when our room didn't get cleaned, it came as a surprise. I called and asked if we could get this every day, and he said yes, but in our 6-day stay, our room was cleaned only once. That stinks. When we needed help with the heater, someone came two days later. That stinks too. With all hat said, the hotel is in a nice location, there's a 24 hour supermarket nearby, an indoor pool and the view is good. The free breakfast is so-so, food is edible with minimal choices. There is only one person working the whole breakfast buffet and she does a good job but it is there to provide sustenance and little more. There are a bunch of restaurants nearby, so there's food available for a price. Overall this hotel could be very nice if Hilton were to invest some human beings into the place. But they haven't and they are unlikely to do so, claiming that this is an "extended residence" rather than the hotel that it really is. After a while you get tired of all the BS and the inadequacies. And for the price, the value here is poor.

I stayed here two nights and loved every second of it. I will say I don’t believe their rooms have underwent the new round of Hilton remolding but honestly it did not matter - they looked pretty new and were large/spotless. Staff, amenities, food was all great, but the best part of it is the location. Truly in the heart of West End and within a 2 minute walk to tons of great restaurants and shops. This will probably be the only place I stay when I come back to Minnesota!

A really nice experience. The hotel was very clean with nice amenities, the staff was very friendly, our room was also very clean, great bed and pillows. Onsite laundry, close to restaurants and shopping. I'd highly recommend to anyone visiting the Twin Cities!

The hotel was ill prepared for the number of events they had scheduled. We stayed one week and worked with management on the timing of our room cleaning, which was scheduled for the fourth day. But they had insufficient staff to clean our room so our room did not get cleaned until the night before we left. So basically we had a dirty room for our entire stay. Management only offered excuses, and no compensation for poor performance.

What a great experience from check in to check out! Customer service was top notch, absolutely exceeding our expectations. The front desk was so accommodating and Dan went out of his way to get us what we needed. The location is great, so close to everything in MLPS. The rooms were clean and spacious!

My family visited the Twin Cities and stayed at this hotel for five nights over Memorial Day weekend. The room accommodated our group of five perfectly and the location was excellent (near grocery store, restaurants, major highway, theater, etc.). The staff was welcome and accommodating, even personally handling a cleaning request while we were away for the day. We’ll definitely return when we visit in the future!

We were very disappointed with this hotel. At check-in, we received a room with 1 king bed, but had reserved a room with 2 queens (we were a couple and a teenager). The hotel first refused to acknowledge our original reservation, then when I shoed them we had reserved 2 queens they told us we were stuck with the king. The pull out couch was terrible - our tall teenager was extremely uncomfortable. The room overall was dark and awkwardly laid out, and the bedding was poor quality and uncomfortable. The fitness center was in poor condition and was missing both sweat towels and water.

I approached the front desk girl two times during the day. The winds were howling in my room. The whistle sounded like an ambulance. It was loud and very annoying. I videotaped it and brought it down to her and asked her if she thought she could sleep through that. She said in fact she had to sleep here tonight and that she would also be sleeping with the howling sound. She said the winds were coming from all directions and all the guests are complaining about it. So too bad for me. So the wind wasn’t coming from everywhere the wind was coming out of the west directly into my room and I guess through some hole or window or the air-conditioning unit…. whatever. I don’t know the parking lot was empty I saw nobody in this hotel but for some reason she didn’t feel she could move me. She was rude abrupt and basically turned her back on me and walked away. This is my second time here but for sure my last. It’s overpriced for the poor customer service and the construction is obviously substandard.

My short stay in MN turned into an additional 8 nights spent here at the Homewood Suites by Hilton at the West End. Megan at the front desk has an absolute first class ability to interact with guests. I spoke with her several times for a few different things I needed help with. She was 100% "I will make that happen." You could put her at any Hilton property anywhere in the world and I know she would shine. Thank you, Megan. Nicole, the General Manager was also very warm and welcoming. At the Wednesday night Manager's reception (which was set up in such a lovely way with so many delicious treats) she could not have been more warm. I also had really nice conversations with a member of the cleaning staff and a few of the charming ladies who were in charge of the breakfast buffet (and the manager's reception). I know two of them are headed back to Jamaica but I hope if you return to the hotel at a later time, our paths will cross. I enjoyed chatting with you! The housekeeping was spotless and I can see why there are returning guests who spend a month or more at this property. It's like an apartment in a building where you know there is someone there who cares about your day to day comfort. I had to keep extending my stay because of weather where I live. Whether you are booking for a corporate stay, coming for a wedding or just visiting MN and would like to stay near downtown but not in it... this is your place! Thank you so much for one of the best stays I have had at a Hilton in 2022. I am going on night 43 at Hilton properties this year. I cheat sometimes with those bastards at Marriott (kidding but true!). Thank you so much Homewood Suites at the West End St. Lous Park. Until we meet again!
